This Dr is one of the Dr’s that made me realize how crooked the medical system is. He was only there to write prescriptions. Was absolutely no help to me whatsoever . And if you tell his secretary anything in confidence , fyi that’s his wife and she reposts back to him. I am so blessed I stopped going to this Dr

I have seen Dr. Barber for a few years now. He has always been harsh, unhelpful and unkind with me. He has stated his belief that unhoused people are lazy and dangerous. He has abused his powers to refuse care/aid, and has condoned sharing prescriptions that are controlled substances. Stay away.

Been seeing Dr Barber for over ten years. Exceptional. Dr Barber has been very helpful to me over the years...helping me look at situations, people, and myself, from new, different, and needed perspectives. Understands me, is respectful and kind and supportive. Medications are right, good, and work for me. I’m grateful.

I have been a patient of Dr. Jeffrey Barber for nearly a decade & he has helped me immensely with my GAD & Agoraphobia issues. After battling with my struggles for many many years, he was the only doctor that I met whom correctly diagnosed my conditions.
To the people giving negative reviews about how he just wants to prescribe medication ...find a psychologist, counselor, or therapist. He is a psychiatrist & prescribing medication that may help you battle & get through whatever it is you are going through is what he does. It may take some time to figure out what works best for you re: medication. It is a process, but if you are open, honest & real with him, he will do his absolute best to help you.
He is extremely knowledgeable in his profession, helpful, kind & I highly recommend him. In my opinion, he has been a life-saver. I rarely have anxiety attacks or take meds anymore. Him & his staff deserve many thanks & credit for what they do. 5 star rating for sure!

I've been a patient of Dr barbers for about 3 yrs. since moving here from Vancouver, where I was under great psychiatric care for long term anxiety. Dr barber rates at the level of care I received in Vancouver. His length of time in his field and staying current brings vast amounts of knowledge and expertise. If you are there for help you'll get it. I find him positive kind and caring. But he is also a no nonsense type of person, he's got a job to do and you as his patient need to let him do it. He has a dry sense of humor which I appreciate. You can't please everybody all of the time which is what I would tell those who have left negative replies.

Basically, I still go to him solely for content to use in my stand up comedy. Prepare to argue facts as he sticks to what he knows- drugs. "...if you need drugs, I'm your guy." If you want to pursue any other line of treatment- not your guy. He has over prescribed me to the point other doctors would consider my script unethical- I told him I would be moving at some point, he immediately asked if I'd be able to return to him for my script as other doctors would not continue the script he has given me, now for 4 years. He has a very negative view of of the world and practices zero restraint in putting this on his patients- if I was not who I am (a jokester, haha) he would have crushed my ability to go on long ago... And, I do wonder if that was his goal, as he continues to try and push more drugs on me for things I can control through cognitive behavioral type treatments (not that he knows much about that, nor do I tell him for risk of being belittled) .

The single worst interaction I've ever had with a medical "professional." His only interest is writing prescriptions. He dismisses every other form of therapy entirely. He made no attempt to help me find alternatives or other practitioners with different approaches. I came in with crippling anxiety attacks and his basic summation was "life is hard and they don't make a pill for that so there's nothing I can do." He has a complete lack of empathy, which while sadly common among doctors is a bit of a fatal flaw in a psychiatrist. After waiting over a year to get an appointment I left if more depressed than ever. You are literally better off doing nothing that seeing him, he has no interest in helping people, is really argumentative and will likely make you worse than before you saw him.

This might have been one of my worst experiences ever. Dr Barber at most made jokes about medicine not working for me, and told me I might just be “unlucky”. As a 26 year old woman, being told at best I could live on disability but it “wouldn’t be much of a life” when I needed help was incredibly hurtful and concerning. I would recommend choosing anyone else.

He told me all about the anecdotal evidence he got from patients during a medication trial but when I told him my anecdotal evidence of the same medication, I was not to be believed
