I was admitted to Cape Medi Clinic hospital from the ER. Where Dr. Szabo was assigned to my case. I asked Dr. Szabo for an MRI which he said I don't need, after two days of insisting, it turned out I had a slipped disc and some herniated disc, etc. I was advised that my two options were a Lumber block, or to have my discs fused. After 2 or 3 lumber blocks ( one a year), I couldn't take the pain anymore as they weren't working. I was told by Dr. Szabo that "I need to live with the pain or have the disc fusion surgery on 2-3 levels. I went for a consult with David Welsh, a Neurosurgeon at Vincent Pallotti, who advised we should do a disc replacement surgery. My pain has dropped from an 8-9 out of 10 to a 2 out of 10. I asked Dr. Szabo if there were any other options for me, and he did not advise me to see a Neurosurgeon. I waisted three years living in Agony, instead of receiving the correct medical advice and perhaps a referral.

As a medical professional, Dr Szabo is excellent. Unfortunately, his negligent receptionist didn't send our invoices (or didn't send them correctly), and turned us over to a debt collector before trying to get hold of us directly to resolve things. When we refused to pay the collection fees - it was clear to all that we shouldn't have been sent to a collection agency in the first place - Dr Szabo was outright hostile and rude and even threatened us, claiming that we were guilty of fraud. We are extremely disappointed, and there aren't many people around with his level of expertise which makes this experience even more frustrating.

I had a fracture on my tibia in 2010. Had bonegraft at Bokamoso Private Hospital, at Gaborone. No one can tell that I have screws in my leg, thanks to Dr Szabo! God bless you.
