this doctor is awful. complete mess. truly a karen who lives up to her namesake.

Dr. Shklanka is an addictions doctor at Royal Columbian Hospital. I think she was the head doctor for that team at some point, but I do not sure if she still is. She was involved in the care of a family member of mine while they were staying in the hospital. I found her energy to be unsettling and unnerving. She seemed disorganized, flustered, and somewhat rude and condescending in response to us asking her questions. I don't think someone specialized in Addiction Medicine should have such poor communication or interpersonal skills. This is a field that requires sensitivity and compassion. And Dr Shklanka does not have it. I also did not find her "expertise" up to the bar, and it was frustrating to have the care plan changed sometimes from one day to the next, because the doctors for this team would change so frequently. More than once her changes to the treatment made things worse.
