Dr. Kagan knows his field and when to send to a specialist. I've been his patient for over 10 years. I owe him that I quit smoking and deal better with life.

This doctor is the worst. He tells elderly patients that they shouldn't expect to feel good because they aren't going to live forever. He gave an overdose of anti biotics to a 90 plus year old woman who had hives as a result. One site reports him as deceased- we can only hope!!

Told me my severe abdominal pain was psychosomatic because I have PTSD and gave no treatment for it. Said I was the " kind of patient doctors want to get rid of". Turns out the pain was caused by the anti-depressant I was taking (Cymbalta, origin of problem finally discovered by a kind Providence gastroenterologist). Is well-educated and used to be very kind but now seems burned out.

Annual physical is thorough and lengthy. He is consertative. Regarding a recent problem I had, he was very persistent in determing the cause and ensuring I received the necessary medical care.

regardless of chronic symptoms, is not willing to order additional testing to determine the problem. Accepts all baseline tests as normal though symptoms continue to worsen. i believe it may be because he is an older physician and is not up to date on current medical issues.
