Directed at his colleague and staff.
Because I don't believe that one failed drug test because of a toothache should get you kicked out of your addiction treatment. If it wasn't for this I would rate her five stars all day every rating Dr website around.

Pharma **ore. Refused to prescribe me I**rmectin for the treatment of C**id and tried to push the poison j*b down my throat. Total untrustworthy l*ser. He should have given me as a patient my own choice to make.

Terrible. Absolutely terrible. Never did a physical exam, never did a psychiatric one, diagnosed me with a psychosis and paranoia. Went to him because I lost the Psych NP handling my Benzo taper, she switched practices and the one she's working at does not allow Benzo prescriptions. My current provider, unlike Dr Ivins, is actually trained and certified in addictions and dependency, knows the Ashton Method developed by the late Heather Ashton (which my previous provider was using), and thought Dr Ivins intention to polydrug me with 3 medications, of which none help with Benzo withdrawal symptoms, plus the rate and amount he wanted to taper me from (I am down to 4.5 mg Valium from 20 mg, I was at 5.5 in July when I saw him) was ludicrous. Professor Heather Ashton's method, which he pooh-poohed, is the one quoted in all of the scientific and medical literature and research studies. Very unprofessional, used profanity, and not a Psychiatrist. Walked out the door, never returned.

If I could, I'd give this guy a -0. He put me on Latuda for anxiety/OCD telling me how great the medication was, how he gave talks about it. After 6 months of taking this med, I went to Ivins and told him I was experiencing weird leg and posterior movements. His eyes glazed over and he told me it was stress. The condition got worse and moved to my feet, toes and hands. I went back to him monthly complaining of these symptoms and each time he told me it was stress-related. I thought I was going crazy. My therapist advised me to see a psychiatrist and when I told him of my symptoms, he said, "You have tardive dyskinesia. It's from the Latuda." I immediately stopped taking the med, and asked Ivins for my records. My complaints and symptoms weren't even on my medical records! It just said, "Latuda working well." When I talked to him, he said he knew it was the Latuda, but he wanted to wait to see if the symptoms would clear up!! I said, "That's not your call to make!!" He had no answer as to why he didn't note anything in my records. I reported him to the Board of Professional Licensing and they decided to take the case. However, since there was nothing in the records, there was nothing they could do. 5 years later, I still live with these symptoms. Ivins has no integrity, ethics, or empathy (in my experience). Stay far away.

I have only been in the waiting room for 20 minute ez waiting for my first appointment and I will not be back. The waiting room smells horribly of old smoke, it’s actually unbearable. Judging by the staff and clientele, I can understand the stench. Definitely will not be returning-I actually wish I didn’t have to stay for this appointment

Dr. Ivins is the best. He is a genuine physician with his patient's best interest in mind. He is not careless with his prescribing meds for chronic pain, he truly cares. He offered me alternatives for my chronic pain that have been very successful and are non-addictive. I highly recommend Dr. Ivins for the sufferer who does not want to run addiction risks. He offers non-conventional treatment which has worked great for me.

He's awesome, he tells it like it is and could be offensive to others but I respect that about him. He won't just medicate you just to medicate you. He's the real deal.

My child had opiate issues. We went to try to get them into a suboxone regime. During the intake exam, Dr. Ivins was extremely arrogant and brusque. I could understand how that may have been the best way to deal with addicts, a tough love attitude, so I said nothing. He scheduled them for an early morning appointment to start the drug which we were unable to make. We called ahead of time. My child simply wasn't truly ready yet. He ended up billing my child for $400. With everything we were dealing with, it was not helpful but actually quite harmful. It added a lot of stress to an already toxic situation. My child has been off the drugs now for more than 3 years, thank God, but it's certainly .no thanks to anything this doctor did. Seems like it's about the money with him.
