Dr. Levin re-opened child psychiatry practice. He used to have an office in San Ramon but now is doing it online. As always, very helpful.

A good and smart psychiatrist. Likes to teach and spends more time that one would expect. Have learned a lot and think I can handle my stress better. Levin knows a lot about medications and medicine. Happy to keep working with him. Good staff, partic. Denise.

Very patient and nice doctor. Helped me greatly to understand my son's behavior and the various medication effects. I had seen another woman doctor in the area and was not happy. His office seems very busy but I get the attention I want and am well served.

Dr. Levin is a smart and caring doctor. He took extra time to answer all my questions during the first visit. The price was reasonable and the doctor is efficient. Recommend.

Biography

I received an M.D. degree from the New York University (Langone) School of Medicine. I started as a pediatrician and later moved to psychiatry. My training in child psychiatry, psychopharmacology, and developmental-behavioral medicine was at UCLA. Afterward, I took a faculty position at UC Irvine, where I participated in research studies of ADHD and other disruptive behavioral disorders. After moving to Northern California, I founded the East Bay Psychopharmacology Group and was its Medical Director for 25 years. I evaluated and treated thousands of children and adolescents, working closely with families and medical and mental health providers. For more than two decades, I taught the graduate course in pediatric mental health at UC Berkeley Extension and was a faculty member at the Dept. of Psychiatry of Touro University College of Osteopathic Medicine. I have been married for 33 years and have two grown children. My wife Charan and I are also publishers of educational children's books. Our book The Reading Lesson is the second bestseller in its category in the U.S. and number one in the U.K. My recent book, Brainfulness: The intuitive guide to the nature and diagnosis of mental illness is published on Amazon Kindle.
