Literally the worst ob ever!!! I had very severe morning sickness with a pregnancy and asked him suggestions on how to alleviate it. He told me " every pregnant woman has nausea to some degree and they just deal with it. You'll have to deal with it, too." Really!?! I don't understand all these great reviews complementing his care and understanding of his patients. I got neither compassion or understanding during a very stressful and uncomfortable time. Three and a half months into the pregnancy I had a misscarriage, so no longer needed the practice, but was sent a bill for over $2000.00!!! Unbelievable!!! When I questioned it, office staff said I signed a clause stating I would be responsible for fees related to not continuing prenatal care with the office for length of pregnancy. I would assume that to be ok if you switched ob's during pregnancy and left this practice for another one, but seriously, I had a miscarriage!!! Totally insensitive!!! And also billed my insurance incorrectly.

What a wonderful doctor. Pragmatic and kind, he was helpful during difficult and exciting times. He explains all the different options, what the impacts could be, how something could affect me, my family, and later my baby - and left the decisions up to me - and was supportive of those. When I came to him with difficult topics, he was very patient and kind, and then when my husband came in with me - he did it all over again, with the same kindness. His nursing staff has always been friendly and supportive. I've never waited long to see him and while I wait, the nursing staff sees you so as soon as you're done with the check in and vitals, he's there. I chose him because someone rated him as being much like a midwife in the delivery room - and he definitely is. He's a wonderful doctor and I recommend him to all!

Dr. Bloss is a lot to take. If you do not do exactly what he wants without questioning him he is not polite. Patients always have the right to refuse a medical procedure, but he seemed frustrated with me for refusing his medical advice. Later he also made a comment that he know he was right. I do not think in patient care it is about being right and wrong. The nurses really like him, but he needs to spend more time explaining why he wants to do the things he wants to do instead of just saying we should do this. I think he is a competent doctor I just do not like his bedside manner. In one visit I had early on in my pregnancy I asked if he recommended the flu shot. He said yes you could die! This is how he gets his points across. For me when I feel such extreme reactions I find it hard to open up and then talk to the doctor.

Coming from someone who used to work with Dr. Bloss one on one, I would recommend him time and time again. He is the one doctor who I can honestly say cares deeply about his patients, and has absolute compassion and understanding for each individual situation. You can always trust that he is doing what is best for his patients, again, seen from a nurses perspective...which unfortunately I cannot say for other doctors in his practice. If you need him to spend an hour with you discussing your unique situation, then he will be in your room with you for an hour, never looking at a clock or watch. He wants you to be informed about procedures, outcomes, etc. I cannot rave enough about him.

Dr. Bloss was awesome. I had my third baby and he was there to deliver her. It is true that he does think like a midwife. He kept me calm through my entire pregnancy and advocated for me when I was getting advice from another Dr. (not Dr. Altman). He was there for me the entire time. He helped me deliver my baby without the use of any medications which was really important to me. I definately recommend him to anyone looking for a new Doc.

Dr. Bloss is absolutely amazing, I cannot say enough good things about him. I recently had my second miscarriage and he was kind, courteous, compassionate and completely honest and open with medical information. He answered all of my many questions, returned my many phone calls promptly, and seemed to really care. He is a self-described OB who thinks like a midwife. I've always avoided OBs in the past but Dr. Bloss is just incredible. I give him my absolute highest recommendation. I do have to also compliment all of the office staff, they were so good about getting information for me and getting me in for appts. I have not met Dr. Altman, the other Dr. in the pracice, but I've heard great things about him. I spoke to the CNM on the phone and she was very helpful though she has a very brusk manner.

Biography

The experiences my wife and I shared in the births of our six kids have helped shape my philosophy and perspective as an obstetrician. Believing that birth is a natural event has enabled me to coach women through the delivery process; throughout a patient's pregnancy, I am happy to devote whatever time is needed for communication and information. On the gynecological side of things, I have trained to be able to provide state of the art techniques such as outpatient robotic & laparoscopic hysterectomy and hysteroscopic sterilization that allow my patients to get back on their feet and back to their busy lives. I have a special interest in the evaluation and treatment of women with chronic pelvic pain conditions and am a member of the International Pelvic Pain Society. Evidence based patient care and a positive doctor-patient collaboration are always my most important goals.
