Arrogant and loves to hear himself speak. I thought the consult was about my wellbeing? I then get a bill from my insurance company for all of these in person testing (blood work and procedures!). My 12 min consult turned into a nightmare. All to hear this arrogant "specialist" even though he is a regular gynecologist and has horrible reviews. Just wanted to confirm that they are in fact real. He is a quack and you will end up with a huge bill and still have pelvic pain. Go elsewhere like NYU Langone.

Rude, arrogant, bad advice. See Yelp for his real reviews. I strongly suspect those on other sites are fake.

Worst bedside manner I've ever encountered and a complete quack. I read another review where he sent the patient to a psychiatrist as he did upon my visit. I asked him where his expertise came into play regarding mental health as I didn't see any diploma on his wall as an expert on this subject. I came to him for pain management not a psychological evaluation. He was arrogant and nasty and in my opinion suffers from an extreme case of narcissism and it is he who needs mental help.

He prescribed me a pill which he was not qualified to take me off and sent me to a psychiatrist - for which he had no referral.

Waiting room time was typically 30 min, not including the time spent waiting in the exam room (usually another 10.)

Exams and visits were rushed - I rarely had more than 5-7 minutes face time and felt like I couldn't always ask questions or tell him things because I felt belittled. I paid $60 per visit for this.

I told him I was taking a pill for yeast orally (because that is what it said to do on the pill bottle) and he asked me how I thought that would get to my vagina.

I left NYC a few months ago and have finally set up an appointment for a new gynecologist. I requested to have my records released to my new doctor and was told by the office staff that it would be 75 cents PER PAGE. I asked why - because I have never had a doctor charge me for the release of my medical records - and she said "Because that is the maximum amount Dr. Levey can legally charge."

I found him through a study for women with Endo. He wanted me to have a hysterectomy, and then said he is on the board of this robotic operating machine and would like some members of his board to be there at the surgery..
he also said he would do the "fertility sparing" surgery and I said but why, I do not want children we already spoke of that... how can a GYNO not pay attention to that detail?
I think he wants to do surgeries with his machine and his board buddies, and they will chomp cigars and eat steaks while we lay in the hospital recuperating.

Dr. Kenneth Levey's response
It is cleat that this patient misinterpreted our conversation. I told her it is both not always necessary and more risk to remove the uterus. I am not on any board associated with robotic surgery and have never been.

RUN AWAY. He makes you fill out a book of paperwork before you can see him. Then his consult seems knowledgeable. I went to him with a diagnosis of endometriosis his "specialty". He insisted on telling me for MONTHS that I had a muscle tear in my abdomen. He injected my stomach WEEKLY with lidocaine. He sent me for spinal injections and to various other unneeded consults. He FINALLY operated on me to which I had NO RELIEF. My endometriosis was so bad that he came out of the OR and apologized for not believing me. He NEVER called back-even an ER that he sent me to. He insisted that I needed an IUD and when I went back to him with my symptoms again he stated that he would "eat his shorts" if I had endo. Just had surgery with a REAL specialist-and lo and behold I have endo-less than a year later.

I came to Dr. Levey after seeing many other qualified, highly recommended doctors who had no clue how to manage my condition. Dr. Levey is very pro-active, doesn't wait for conditions to worsen to address them, and is a fast-paced, cut-to-the-chase kind of guy. He obviously really cares about his patients, and isn't annoyed by my speaking up and asking questions! He won't do a surgery if he doesn't think it will help, and is honest about treatment options and what to expect. He's a bit of a multi-tasker, but I don't mind as I've had calmer, quieter doctors who were either total crap or useless. He's also an excellent surgeon. Dr. Levey has improved my quality of life immensely, and has helped give me my life back, when other doctors had let me just go on suffering. But I don't mind if the nay-sayers go somewhere else, as he'll have more open appointments for me!

I'm replacing Dr. Levey due to his service. I made an appt for an annual through an online service but noted I have fibroids and will need to have those monitored to verify if they're growing. After waiting, I was put into his office where he came in & used his computer before talking to me. Then asked what I was doing there...then said he doesn't do annuals and sent me to his NP who I actually like. She felt the fibroid so said he may need to see me after all. Eventually (after at least an hour) he checked & felt it also and did a 1 second ultrasound before saying I needed an MRI. 3 weeks after MRI no word although they had results 4 days after. Emailed him, he "apologized" then said to come in & he'd see me. Then said no, see a different dr (Hudson) who didn't understand why I was seeing her when I arrived. Today, phone call from Hudson says Levey reviewed my file & I need to see him. $30 copay every time...In an email he said he didn't know why I was put with Hudson. He did it!

I rarely leave rating, but Dr. Levey and his staff definitely deserve it! My entire experience at this office was pleasant; from the appointment, to my conversations with Dr. Levey regarding diagnosis and treatment options, to scheduling the best procedure, pre-op, surgery, post-op. Dr. Levey is extremely brilliant and I knew from our first visit that I was in the best hands. He has changed my life. I pray that God continue to bless him and the work that he does!! Keep up the great job!

Very unpleasant experience with this doctor. I would not recommend him to anyone. Poor communication between myself and his staff lead to a very unpleasant follow up visit which left me feeling very demeaned. No patient should ever have to feel mistreated by the very doctor who is supposed to be helpful. I have been to many doctors who may not be as compassionate as they might be, yet there as always existed a degree of professionalism and protocol that patients expect and deserve especially under such circumstances as chronic pelvic pain!
