So kid and patient... extremely knowledgeable...he knows a lot about medication but is well aware that's just a small part of the picture.

I first met him when I was on the cusp of nine and ten, and oh boy where to start? Admittedly, he is very personable and kind, but these qualities only go so far in his line of work. For starters, he was never on time for any appointments, and often cancelled without notice -- I see I'm not alone in this, based on others' reviews. Another shared experience seems to be leaving absolutely no notice or referral to another doctor upon leaving Edmonton. Zbuk also ignored my clear signs of abuse in favor of perscribing me different medications, the first instance of this being my second session with fluoxitine; this was a precedent for the next eight years, the medicines he'd given me ranging from diazipam to latuda -- however the absolute worst being pristiq. Zbuk perscribed me pristiq at SIXTEEN -- two years below the FDA approved age, a medication only recommended for those in their mid-twenties. My existing mental health issues were worsened because of this man's pill-happy approach to his job, if you care about your kids, don't send them to this doctor.

Terrible doctor. Legit left the province and ghosted me as a patient, no follow-up, nothing. I am suicidal and there is nobody to take over and help. Even as a patient, he was disorganized at the best of times and terrible to get ahold of or do follow-up with me.

Dr. Zbuk seriously saved my life. He was consistently motivating me to get better and was supportive when I told him I wanted to gradually come off of medications. He personally offered to handle the situation with my abusive father that was making my mental health worse and advocated for me in the legal system.
He is very cautious of the medication he prescribes and orders bloodwork beforehand to double-check everything, as well as offers appointments regularly and when needed if something urgent comes up.
Unfortunately, he left the province without even a phone call or a transfer to another psychiatrist, however, I was nearly recovered by that point and was able to manage on my own, but I do see this as irresponsible and can't imagine how his other patients are handling this.
Overall, he is an excellent doctor and deserves recognition for his abilities in the field of psychiatry.

Hes amazing. His diagnoses are fast. He clearly knows what hes doing. Hes never failed to make me smile. But he does have alot of patients so its hard to get him half the time.

I am not sure why people say he left with no notice. I got a letter and I was so sad to hear he was leaving. It’s not his fault your child has no doctor, blame this stupid mental health system. If he’s in Saskatchewan, they are so lucky to have gained such a wonderful doctor and human being. I cannot say enough good things about him, My daughter saw him since she was 15 and he continued to see her after 18 because there was no decent adult psychiatrists out there. Thank you for everything you did for us Dr. Zbuk! You are wonderful! I owe you, for all the times you listened and made time for us.

Went above and beyond for my daughter who connected well with him. Was an advocate to help my daughter get the school supports she needed. Knowledgeable regarding medication.

Dr Zbuk was the greatest child physiatrist my son ever had. I am sad he moved away but he relocated to Prince Albert, Sask. to reopen a closed child psychology wing. It really speaks wonders to the great heart he has. I wish him the best.
