This was my first visit to Dr.Riley Halls's clinic at 2099 Shaughnessy Square Port Coquitlam and will be the last. Front office staff carries a very negative unwelcoming energy which is a put off from the point you enter the door. Abrupt and unwelcoming.
This was followed by the rudeness of the doctor, who was more interested in commenting on lack of communication between optometrist and patient. Not certain of the basis of the 5 Star ratings here but my encounter was very much aligned with the 1- 3 stars ratings by other patients. Clearly had no interest in explaining the science behind what was being checked. This individual needs a revamp of his communication skills and a stark reminder as to why he in the profession that he is in. Robotic and in a hurry to get things over with. One wonders why physicians of this caliber are tolerated in the provincial medical system.

Dr. Payne is a knowledgeable, caring doctor. I went to him after leaving my first opthamologist who was ignorant for my eye injury. I was struggling with constant pain and vision for over a year, when took my first visit to Dr Payne, he didn't care for any thing but my eye. Dr. Payne is patient, he listens everything and prepare notes. His high intelligence comes in between where he may look distracted but actually he is thinking ahead for treatment with your few symptoms explanation. He immediately started treating me and told me what is the treatment looks like. He did all the procedure on my injured eye step by step from micro puncture, bandages, ointments. He was clear that after micro puncture and bandage contacts, if I still had symptoms then laser is the last resort and after that, we had to wait for new treatments discoveries. He was caring enough to transfer my documents to worksafeBC and instructed his office to charge less to provide me one copy.
I can't thank him enough for being so amazing and taking care of my case with priority.

I get one of my puple bigger then other like 3 months ago, when he checked my eyes , he just told me its not treatable and no matter how and why u get it.
Empty and lezy money maker.

Dr removed chalazion on my right eye. It was painful but he was quick and did it right. He is very knowledgeable and experienced. He is quite funny. Ask him all the questions you want.

Dr. Payne is Highly Educated with Years of Experience. He Diagnoised me with a very very Serious Eye Condition Immediately. If it was not for him I would eventually lose my Eye Sight. It was that serious. Thank God for Dr. Payne as he knew exactly what was wrong. I trust him Completely. He was very through and very Good at what he does. He was a very polite, Caring Doctor.

Rude, unprofessional, insulting and clearly in it for the cash. I ran from his office amd sought a second opinion. The laser surgery he had recommended for narrowed angles was totally unnecessary. I was told this by a specialist who said that if she wanted some extra cash she would do it but totally unnecessary! Yikes! How many people have had unnecessary procedures? Mind boggling, and I have been a medical professional for thirty years!!

Dr Payne is a wonderful doctor! He did my cataract surgery and now I can see again. I would strongly recommend him to everyone.

Dr. Darren Payne is wonderful! He was very nice, very straightforward doctor who helped me with my cataracts. The staff was very professional, and kind. I would recommend Dr. Payne to everyone who really needs help.
