She does not know how to listen to her patients she's all about the lab work doesn't realize when lab work is from 4 years ago... not current. Has never once examined me. When I had questions, I was told I would have to make another appt...she had other patients to see. And I too noticed that she ordered a tox screen without informing me. I was dx with ADD in 2011 (in NYC) but had to stop taking meds upon discovering I was pregnant in '12. Since I'm weaning and looking for work, I decided to begin meds again. It was immediately clear she had little knowledge on the condition. She expressed doubt that I had it and stated "it's rarely diagnosed in adulthood". I explained that while less common, it is not as rare as once thought-especially with an inattentive form which my symptoms align with. Unlike the hyperactive or impulsive form, we often get by in school because we are not “acting out”. Research has shown that inattentive types, and women, are more likely to be diagnosed later in life. She refused to listen. She “had to go to the next patient” and appeared annoyed at my questions. The last straw was when I got home and looked over my lab orders. She ordered a DRUG TEST and failed to disclose this or explain. It was humiliating and showed lack of respect. A deal breaker for me when choosing a provider.
