What a joke of a doctor. Thank god we switched doctors or my grandma wouldn't have pulled through

Dr. Bakonyi has very little bedside manners. Told me "don't be too hopeful" with my mother's stroke recovery. I broke down into tears. This was on day two of the incident happening. Since then my mom has fully recovered her speech but still working on her physical strength. During recovery, mom was suffering from severe cramps, day and night, for over three weeks. Numerous nurses left notes for the doctor to investigate further. She accused my mom of being needy and wanting sympathy from the family to tend to her. In reality, she was suffering from severe gastrointestinal issues from her paralysis. A simple antacid liquid resolved her weeks of pain that was ignored. I'm sure Dr. Bakonyi is a very knowledgeable doctor; however, she did give my mom the proper care and medical attention that she deserved. Our experience at VGH and the medical attention provided was very poor.

This doctor can be dubbed as Dr Doom and Gloom. Her Eastern European coldness needs to be worked on. It wouldn't kill her to be a little more positive and warm when dealing with family members who are grieving over their lived one's medical conditions. She needs to realize that the patient is our loved one and not just another sick elderly person in a hospital bed! Show some human compassion.
