Dr Gerard Champaloux has been my PCP for well over 10 years. I owe him my life. I will never go to anyone else. 11 years ago, I was followed by another physician whom misdiagnosed my shortness of breath & respiratory distress on multiple occasions as asthma. With no improvement in my breathing, I went to see Dr G. Champaloux whom quickly diagnosed me in his office as heart failure. My heart muscle was functioning at only 15%. Dr G. Champaloux sent me directly to the ER and notified a cardiologist whom was awaiting my arrival. I was hospitalized for several weeks, placed on medication, and eventually ended up with a implantable cardiac device in my chest. My heart is functioning near normal now. The cardiologist said I would not have lived another week had I not been diagnosed so quickly by Dr G. Champaloux . I highly recommend him to anyone in need of a primary care physician. Thank goodness his many years of experience as a physician saved my life. I am forever grateful to him.

Dr. Champaloux has been my doctor for over 30 years, He has been caring, considerate and has always pointed me in the right direction for a specialist. The wait time can be long so I make appointments in advance and early.. The staff has always been considerate and noone has ever pushed me to purchase vitamins or anything else. I give him a 10.

Dr. Champaloux doesn't look objectively at symptoms to provide a diagnosis. He simply writes prescriptions. Additionally, he allows patients to self diagnose... if they tell him the reason they think there is a problem, then he provides medication for that regardless of actual diagnosis or tests.

If you have some a serious illness, this treatment style can "string you along" until it is too late to address the problem.

Dr. Champaloux has been our family doctor for over 30 years. He has taken care of our children as well as my husband and myself. I have never found a more caring or generous man in my life. No matter what we have needed we have received the best of care from "Dr. C" and when necessary he did not hesitate to send us to the specialists who could help us. The staff has treated everyone in our family as one of their own. I have had to wait to see the doctor more than several times, but I know it is because he is giving each patient his undivided attention and really listening to what he/she is saying. I have trusted my life and those of my family to Dr. C. We moved away from Bowie 9 years ago and even though it is a 50 minute ride to his office we still go because of his caring, compassion and knowledge. Nancy Barker 9-3--14

I would NEVER recommend this doctor to anybody. To begin with, wait times are outrageous as many people have pointed out. Staff is incredible rude and not willing to work with someone who is sick/in pain. The doctor is constantly trying to sell expensive vitamins (which I'm sure he endorses and receives compensation for selling). When I mentioned this after the fact, I was told it's my responsibility to tell the doctor I don't want to buy those vitamins. So essentially, I'm paying to go to the doctor to end up telling him I don't want to listen to his suggestions. I came in for something that did not require me to have blood work done but for some reason he requested it. His office sent my blood work to the wrong lab and I had to pay $300 out of pocket. When I complained, I was told that it's my responsibility to tell them where they need to send the blood work (when it's clearly written in my chart). DO NOT GO HERE!!! NOT PROFESSIONAL!!!!!!!

Dr. Champaloux is the best doctor in the world! I have been his patient for over 15 years. I used to work with a group of doctors, but one day I visited Dr. Champaloux and he diagnosed my Thyroid issue, when that was not the reason for my visit. I had surgery immediately and I am doing great. But not one of the doctors that I saw five days a week noticed anything abnormal. He cares about you on all levels: health, work, family, etc. He listens well. I have even started taking my oldest daughter to see him. I trust him totally. His partner left and moved to another state and I said to Dr. Champaloux,"please don't push yourself too much, since your partner is gone." His response was, "don't worrry about me, I''m young and I will always be here for my patients.," If Dr. Champaloux were to leave the state, I would follow him. I come from Waldorf, Maryland to Bowie, Maryland for my visits. He is truly the best!!!

Both doctors at this office are extremely knowledgeable but on numerous occasions, I have experienced a 1 1/2 hour + wait time upon a on-time arrival for scheduled appointments which is most uncomfortable when one is ill. This wait time is lessened when an early morning appointment is made. The doctors are quick and willing to provide prescriptions for ailments which at times can make you feel as if they are looking for a "quick fix" to your concerns. This office is quite busy at times which leads to the wait time mentioned earlier as well as the possibility of your visit receiving a rushed feeling when visiting with the actual doctor.

Hard to get an appointment quickly and when there it took some time to get to see the doctor. Good doctor.

Wait time is ridiculous -- I regularly see people there who have waited well over an hour to see the dr.

He has a tendancy to overmedicate without checking for interactions. I was very sick from mixing meds he told me would be okay.
