My Mother is 90 years old and has had the pleasure of of having Dr. Leonard caring for her for many years. He is kind and patient for the last 3 years we have been able to have telephone appointments but since my mother has moved to Hamilton she has now been referred to Juravinski Hospital. The problem is with his staff who make appointments without speaking to you and leaving a message the day before. The first time they did this I called them back right away and said we were not able to be there. I was going away for a couple of weeks and was not able to get my mother there they said they would call back and reschedule ~ I saw a call from them when I was away ~ no message. I called when I got back and the staff said since my mother missed 2 appointments they have to speak to the doctor and see what he wants to do. I said what does that mean, they said if he wants to charge you for the missed appointments. I said omg that is not what happened here at all, they said we will call you back. Twice they did not call me back then I said I think at this point my mom should get a referral back to Hamilton. We would have rather stayed with Dr. Leonard but the staff kept referring to my file and the missed appointments like now I was a problem ~ what a terrible feeling I can’t imagine what someone put into the notes on my mom’s file. I just couldn’t solve it with them and I don’t know why and I don’t know if the doctor is aware of all of this. They never called me back to say the referral was made I had to call them. Dr. Leonard is a wonderful Doctor but his staff have treated me so unfairly and without respect for their misunderstanding. I have been in business for 38 years I am polite and respectful I take good care of my mother and have not been treated like this by any of her other doctors offices my mom is sad to leave his office all because of his staff that for some reason has decided to wipe their hands of her. They don’t care and I hope you read this Dr. Leonard because we had a wonderful rapport and he use to deliver flyers at St. Elizabeth’s Village in Hamilton where my mom & I live when he was young. We will miss you and so sorry this has happened. Your staff is rude and uncaring a poor reflection for who you are as a health professional.

Very kind personality. I find him very knowledgeable who would explain the problem in a very simple words.
Would never rush and takes all the time to satisfactorily answer all the questions.

I have been seeing Dr. Leonard for almost 6 years now. By far the most professional and caring doc I have dealt with. He is very attentive and takes all the time you need. Very happy with my care. Follow up from office is quick with setting up tests and next appointments as well.

Great phone manner, listened to my concerns, answered all questions and provided options. Never felt rushed and felt genuine concern. Staff follow up with treatment appointment and prescriptions occurred quickly.

My mom was seeing this "doctor" for a rare cancer in her bone marrow. For some unknown reason, he wanted her to go to for a certain test that she did not want to have. Nothing to do with her situation. So, after this, he lied to her face about another test that she was willing to do. He never arranged for this test & completely brushed her off as a patient. No more appointments when she was going every couple of months. Find another Dr. ; even if you are still his patient.

I get a better response from pet dog than I do Dr. Leonard. Yes, he is the doctor, but when I get asked numerous times by emergency doctors if a certain test has been completed just to rule out other issues, and then bring it up to Dr. Leonard, it was an abrupt "no", you don't need that test what you have is this. ..He definitely does not listen to his patients and do not suggest or ask anything because he shoots it down. Also, he never follows up on anything when tests from emergency have been sent to him. He doesn't even follow up with my family doctor when concerns are raised. Same goes for his secretary- never calls back. Personally I find him rude and arrogant and he has left such a bad impression on me that I have asked my family doctor to see if I can get a referral to a new hematologist.

I have been with Dr. Leonard for over a year. I have developed a new problem with my leg. The same leg that had a DVT. I had an ultrasound on July 3rd. It was sent to Dr. Leonard on July 4th and to date, July 22nd, I still have had not received the results of what could be another clot. I feel the problem rests with the clerk at the clinic. They do not answer the phone and all voice mails, left on the answering machine, are ignored. I am extremely disappointed with example of our health care system.

Thought he was good initially until most recent appointment. Felt like I was wasting his time, and he really was not listening to what I was trying to say. Talked over me, I was getting frustrated and he appeared to be getting frustrated as well. Not happy with Dr. Leonard and will be asking for a referral to a different doctor going forward.
