Quite the opposite experience with Dr Jacobson. He asked, even though he'd been informed by staff my reason for visiting ER (pain/sick) in the early morning. He was attentive to my symptoms and explanation, ordered needed tests and followed up with the results. Very thorough, explained slowly the test results and explained prescribed medicines, how to take them, what and why they were prescribed. A pleasant personality (sometimes joking) and bedside manner. As far as previous review, Dr Jacobson should review with nurse/staff and be informed of patient's reason for an ER visit. After all, most cases are trauma not an office visit. He was called away for a more urgent emergency and was a while before returning, but was waiting for testing to take place and test results to come back. It is an ER. 2017

I went to the emergency room because I was assaulted. Obviously the experience was uncomfortable and traumatic. Dr. Jacobson seemed unfocused or distracted, he actually walked into the room and said, "Good to see you", and then, quite obviously, caught himself and amended that statement by saying, "I'm sorry it's under these circumstances". From what it seemed, he knew nothing about me when he came in. Once the nurse very briefly explained the reason for my visit (and she even seemed surprised by his inquiry), I found his responses presumptuous and very crass. Within the maybe five minutes he sat in the room, he managed to make an already horrific experience that much more demeaning. His insensitive words still ring in my head days later.
