I feel so sorry for all the victims and I know it took great courage to come forward. He took advantage of his vulnerable patients and his position. Having said that I have such mixed emotions. Dr. Sloka saved my daughter's life and I will be forever grateful to him for that. I wish his victims all the best.

I saw Dr. Sloka one time for a consultation 6 years ago. He seemed very polite and wanted to get to the bottom of my symptoms. I was alone with him in the exam room. He told me that he needed to check my heart and told me to remove all of my clothing above the waist. I found this a bit odd but I didn't say anything. He had me lay down on my back with a sheet covering my upper body. He removed the sheet, took a very long time to listen to my heart, about 10 minutes, then told me to sit back up and told me I could put my clothes back on. When I sat up, he said "now, how was that, was that ok?" I found this incredibly strange. I never said anything to anyone and never went back. Hearing stories from other women, I now feel like perhaps what he did to me was inappropriate and I should have said something back then.

I was dr sloka’s patient in my early 20s and let me tell you I went to all my appointments alone and never felt abused in any sort of way. He was calm , understanding and tried his best to help me during a rough period of my life. You will he missed dr sloka

As I read the allegations I'm shocked and saddened its terrible to think of these victims. I recommended him to a friend of mine and we've both seen him for almost ten years and he was incredibly helpful with no issues. I come from abuse in my life and hope for quick closer for the victims.

Abusers don’t abuse every single person they come into contact with! I saw him twice and thankfully I had a family member present both times. Just because he didn’t abuse you doesn’t mean he didn’t abuse other people.

I am a female in my early 20's and was Dr. Sloka's patient for quite a while. Before doing any physical exam Dr. Sloka always made sure there was a female nurse present (this was well before any allegations began). He would listen to my heart and he was always extra cautious before moving my gown saying "if you're uncomfortable at any time let me know." I never once had a sense of fear or suspicion. He explained everything thoroughly and my comfort was always his priority. He always made that very clear and gave me every chance to opt out of any physical assessments if I was not comfortable. I have never had such a kind and caring specialist. He helped me to get through university with everything that was going on health wise and if it weren't for Dr. Sloka being patient and taking the time to understand all of my symptoms I would not be as medically stable as I am today. I have nothing but kind terms to say about this doctor still to this day.

I became his patient in 2011 and he has been nothing but helpful, professional and understanding. I'm a woman btw, and he was never inappropriate in any way shape or form.

Was a patient for ~12 years, I find it very hard to believe he was a sexually perverted nut case. Thank you for help. It helped me complete post-secondary education and get into a awesome career.

First the people that are defending him .. shame on you. I saw Dr Sloka after having one seizure. He diagnosed me with Right Sided Temporal Sclerosis. Put me on Dilantin which has terrible side effects. I asked my family doctor for a second opinion. Was sent to London and it turns out Dr Sloka misread my MRI. There was no scarring at all on my brain. But now still living with the side effects of 5 years on Dilantin. I’m so glad to see he lost his license and my heart goes out to the people he has hurt. The fact he may have been nice to some or even the majority of patients can NEVER excuse what he did to a few patients. FYI if you ever had him diagnose you and you never got a second opinion I would strongly suggest you go looking for a second opinion. I laugh when I hear that a doctor is short with people or even rude. They should be nice to people but guess what ... when I go see a doctor I want the smartest one available... i could care less if he has a good bedside manner or is on time or his staff are pleasant. I want a doctor that can make me better again. Period.

Although I am deeply disturbed by what has happened to some of Dr. Sloka'a patients, which is completely unacceptable, we received nothing by great care from Dr. Sloka. By no means do I defend any of his actions, but for us, he was a great doctor who definitely helpful.
