Dr. Materek is exceptional. He has been my endocrinologist for many years and I value him not just as a physician but as a person. He has always made time and always been highly responsive in getting the medications and medical devices I have needed. Being a type 1 diabetic is not easy but the staff and Dr. Materek have always been there for me. I am very sad knowing he is still not well enough to return to work yet but my prayers are for him to return to full health for his family in particular. All the best

Dr Materek is the best Endo I’ve had and I’ve had 3 since I was a teenager. The last one misdiagnosed a condition I had and put me on cancer drugs that didn’t help and made me extremely sick. I asked my GP for a second opinion with dr Materek based on reviews here and I am so glad I did! He took me off those drugs and started properly treating me. I wish him well and hope he takes the time he needs to recover from his illness. I doubt he reads these but I am sure I’m just one of his many patients who are rooting for him! We miss you.

Dr Materek is a wonderful physician. Kind, caring, and never rushes you. Always willing to help and offer good advice. Is incredibly supportive. Had a horrible endo for 10 years and my GP suggested Dr. M would be a better fit for me - wish he had been my dr ten years ago!

I'd give 4 stars for punctuality, but understand:

1. These medical professionals are extremely busy
2. When you take up an extraneous amount of time with your appointment, it can make me late for MY appointment. Respect people's time, or it cascades.

Dr Materek is an extremely knowledgeable and caring physician. He takes his time and follows up as needed. It’s great to see younger doctors taking on the reigns and staying up to date on modern developments in the field. Dr Phillips whom Dr Materek took over was also an great doctor, but definitely more “set in his ways”. Overall, very happy with the care Dr Materek has provided.
