Abrupt and rude, clearly too busy to take more than 6 minutes to talk about the issues and wanted me off the phone ASAP.

Dr. Keeton was prompt, personable and a very good listener. It is great that she has chosen to practise in Mahone Bay!

Just to update, her office is officailly closed she, as a result of a family emergency she has moved out of the province, she has left all files as required with a file service in Ontario so we can get the files, yes there is a fee , some of us were lucky to get our files before she left and some at no charge however a doctor is allowed to charge for those files, she just didn't , on her door was a note the landlord took down, she left voice mail set up and it was connected to her email and there was a problem with that at first due to some server issues which when found out got resolved. Her obligations to us has ended because she simply isn't here.. Complaining about this fee is a waste of time since its something the government set up, So calling the collage and saying she doesn't contact you is simply a waste of time. There are plenty of doctors out there just look up the collage website see who is accepting

I've been a patient for about seven years. Dr Keeton took me on when she had a full roster already as a favor to a personal friend. If I hadn't stumbled across this here, I'd have not known she's officially moved. Last I heard she was coming back. This is a massive inconvience as I today was informed i have no renewals on my prescriptions and two are controlled. I'm beside myself with worry about the pain that will come my way. But there's something to think about here. Why? I honestly do not think she set out to inconvience us. There must have been a good reason for her to get as far away as she could from here. I myself am worried sick about her. She's a human being after all. I doubt she reads these things and it's funny how people will say things knowing they're anonymous. I want Linda to know it is me hoping she's ok...so Linda it's Joan
Frame. Call me or fbook me! I hope you're ok.

It seems to me that for the most part, people are not failing Dr. Keeton for closing her practice. Nor, are they denigrating her skills in the practice of medicine. What is being called in to question, is the way in which it all played out. For months on end there was the promise of re-opening in a new location - by her own words & by her staff. So people hung on, losing more and time - totally in the dark - but trusting in their doctor. And that's the key - trust. The relationship between doctor & patient is not to be taken #o lightly as you seem to think. It's the way our society functions. We believe what our doctor of 5, 10, 20, 30 years tells us. No decent person would be uncaring, unsympathetic to their doctor undergoing personal issues - they are people too. But because of that trust & because the doctor agrees to a certain decorum - patients hold that doctor to their word - something most folk don't personally require of their own behaviour. Whatever was going on in the background is not justification for for being kept in the dark, waiting in limbo for such a long time. Perhaps there was a better way to handle things. On the surface, that's not an unreasonable expectation of one who has the trust of their patient. But that being said, we - none of us can see every angle, every outcome - sometimes - for all of us - we think we'lll be able to fix a thing, wait it out, hold out for a positive outcome - and it's disastrous. Additionally, because it happens to someone held to ideals we don't hold ourselves to - it seems all the more unforgivable. But because a person falls into that all too human trap, it's not licence for patients to lash out, vilify, or run down a doctor who for the most part cared about and cared for her patients in an unreproachable fashion. Dr. Keeton was fine doctor who perhaps made an error in judgement about how to handle what was for her, an extremely difficult, perhaps untenable situation. How do I know this? Not from any inside knowledge. I know it from the bank of trust & respect she accumulated in twenty years of her caring for my ills. Though it has been a hardship trying to figure out how to proceed - I know this was not her intent. Dr. Keeton, I'm so sorry that calamity struck you and that you've had to endure such purile attacks on your character because of it.. I apologize for the way some of my fellow patients have forgotten compassion & understanding - for having not realized you were not capable of being vindictive, cruel or devious. I hope you will forgive things said in anger and remember the things said through love & respect. Good luck doctor.

Ummm just to get this right, NO doctor will allow you to take a file or transfer it at no charge, Doctor Keeton for a short time did this for free while all the issue were on going with her office, due to so many people wanting there files she took the step to make them available and she has to pay the company to take the files, she has no control over there charges, She has closed her practice her in Ontario despite trying to balance her personal life with that of you and I, yet all these people complain...she is better off with out you, I wish her well, and thank her for the years she helped me, calling the collage for a complaint when really all your doing is bitching about the fees, speak to your local MPP they created the fee for service, NO doctor and no collage controls that issue.

Very upset with what she did. She told me the office was being renovated. Also I an confident she was stealing my botox that was supposed to be injected into my neck for severe headaches. She would use one bottle and keep the second bottle for herself.

Hurt, disappointed & disgusted with Dr Keeton. She was a wonderful doctor but leaving us all the way she did was not only unprofessional as a dr but also a poor excuse for a person regardless of what personal problems she may have had. We all have problems but we cannot shirk our responsibilities. And now have to pay $140 + for medical records?!?! SHE should be incurring those costs. Does anyone know of any GOOD & PERSONABLE doctors that are accepting new patients? If so could u post them here please!!! Thank you in advance for anyone's help with this

Dr Linda Keeton is the most unprofessional person. Contact was made by RSRS asking for 140.00 to access my medical file. How dare she close her doors with absolutely no notice, no offer to transfer our records nothing then some random company calls to offer access to my own records with a threat of increased fees after 6 months. College of Physicians and Surgeons here I come. Disgusted.
