I am not yet 50 years old and just recently had a left hip replacement. I have never had any surgical procedure before, and have never even been admitted to hospital (except for routine colonoscopy). Dr. Baier was absolutely the most amazing Anesthesiologist I could have ever wished or imagined for. He is kind, gentle, and explained the entire procedure to me prior to and as he was performing, which consisted of back freezing, epidural and a sedation. I am grateful beyond words to have had Dr. Baier with me during this experience, which was just perfect. From the bottom of my heart, thank you Dr. Baier. I am a regular (albeit minor) monthly donor to JBH, it's the least I can do when we are blessed with such a great hospital, staff, volunteers, and physicians.

A king!!!! I just had a septoplasty and sinus surgery yesterday and I had the great pleasure of having Dr. Bair be my anesthesiologist! I will never forget this brief interaction with him for the rest of my life. He was kind, gentle, patient and compassionate. He took his time to answer my questions, and was very attentive to how I was feeling. It made my anxiety about the whole surgery go away. Everyone needs an anesthesiologist like him, he even made sure I was comfortable right before the surgery by providing me with a heated blanked and making sure I was okay before we started.

Dr Baier did an exceptional job of providing thorough, knowledgeable and compassionate care. A calming and gentle bedside manner goes a very long way when you are feeling vulnerable and scared before a procedure. I can’t say enough about this outstanding doctor. He deserves to be acknowledged for not only being a competent professional but for also being a very decent and caring human being!

Dr Baier was there during my emergency c section and I couldn’t have asked for a kinder more attentive person. My baby was in distress and he put myself and my partner at ease, assuring us we were in good hands and walking us through everything. I cannot say enough good things about him, he’s a wonderful and kind man and I’m so so thankful for him.

Dr. Paul Baier

Late November 2021 I was scheduled for a colonoscopy and an endoscopy during the same session at Joseph Brant. Dr. Paul Baier was the attending anesthesiologist. He took the time to walk me through the process in easily understood terms, told me what to expect and how I would feel as he would begin to administer the anesthesia.

Everything unfolded as he had predicted and when I woke up there were no ill effects or disorientation. He even dropped by while I was in recovery and spoke to me again and my daughter. The man is a credit to his profession and when I read the other reviews about his performance I was not surprised to see all “fives”.

I just had surgery today and was overwhelmed with how thoughtful, professional and downright comforting he was pre-op. He presented numerous options to deal with my prior bad experience with anesthesia and I came out of it feeling completely alert and comfortable. Great doctor and I’d recommend him to anyone.

I had hand and elbow surgery yesterday and I’ve never had such a comfortable relaxed feeling when going into surgery,. Dr Baier was there before surgery during and after not just in post op but he stopped in at the day surgery area as well. I told Dr Baier I wanted to go to a hot sunny beach and that’s what he did he told me a nice relaxing scenario while I was being put under. I have to have rotator cuff surgery later this year and I’m hoping to get Dr Baier again 🙂thank you for the great care from you and all the staff yesterday. Janet Peña-Carranza
