I was in desperate need of a psychiatrist and was told i could see one in a month or take a cancellation and see dr.parveen in 2 days. i honestly wish i knew that i was going to make the worst mistake of my life before deciding to take that cancellation instead of my appointment i originally had. dr.parveen is insanely inconsiderate, rude, disrespectful, and careless. she invalidates you the entire time and laughs at your problems while also making fun of you. she gets irritated easily which is baffling as she is working with CHILDREN that struggle with MENTAL HEALTH which needs a lot of patience and compassion. she had the audacity to yell at me about something that i struggled with as if that was going to help me?? every time i have an appointment with her it feels like im talking to a robot that was programmed to hate my guts. i clearly remembering crying in the car and having a panic attack because of her after an appointment because of how she treated me. she does not care to re-read your file or remember a single thing about you either before an appointment and decides to play a guessing game about what your problems are and what you mentioned to her last time. i would tell her all of my problems in full detail and after pouring my heart out and she would literally dismiss everything i said and invalidate me and make me feel worthless and pathetic. as someone who severely struggles with expressing my feelings and emotions, this is absolutely disgusting to deal with. she has absolutely zero sympathy and i genuinely wonder how this woman became a psychiatrist as she also has absolutely no knowledge regarding mental health.

Dr Parveen was the first Psychiatrist I ever went to when I was first struggling with my mental health as a teenager. I saw her at the Shoniker Clinic in Scarborough and, since this was my first time, I thought her behaviour and actions were typical of most psychiatrists. It's been almost a decade since then and I can say with certainty, that is incorrect. Dr Parveen was dismissive, condescending, insensitive, and overall, seemed like she would rather be doing literally anything else than talking to you. I have since seen 2 other psychiatrists and she is by far the worst. I'm so glad I didn't give up on seeking help for my mental health after being a patient of hers. Though, I would understand anyone who did. Half the time, she wasn't even looking at me when talking to me, and when she did, it was to make a patronizing remark. I cannot believe someone who acts so much like a high school bully, is allowed to treat children and teens. I am almost a decade away from having graduated high school and I still remember so clearly how badly I felt after being in an appointment with her. I hope for the sake of Scarborough youth, she is no longer working at Shoniker, Being a physician, especially when dealing with adolescents, is more than just having knowledge. It's being kind, considerate, understanding, wanting to work with someone to get them feeling better. Dr. Parveen would greatly benefit from remembering that the second half of the word "healthcare" is CARE. Because she clearly does not have a caring bone in her body. If you have received a referral for Dr. Parveen, do yourself a favour and ask for a different psychiatrist. Your future self will thank you.

Dr Parveen appears to be too quick to administer drugs and does absolutely no counselling with the client, appointments were very quick and not at all helpful. No confidence in this doctor, did not get to know the patient.

I do not even know where to begin. She is the most unhelpful healthcare "professional " I have ever had the misfortune to encounter. For the past year and a half my daughter has been to see this woman. It has been one inappropriate episode after another. The icing on the cake was the latest visit when Dr. Praveen began asking my daughter about her pattern of self harming. My daughter has never self harmed. Clearly this doctor could not bother to familiarize herself with the correct patient file. Done, and done. Never going back. Ever.

Very unfortunate that she is actually practicing medicine. Absolutely no excuse that someone like this could be hired to work with children. I can’t imagine a situation where she could be helpful. No decernable skills here.

Very arrogant and unprofessional. Spoke over child's head. Created a very toxic patient to doctor environment.

The worst psychiatrist and should not have a medical licence, particularly with adolescents. She is not helpful and is unable to clearly articulate her thoughts, retain information from one appointment to another, doesn't read charts and doesn't listen to patients or parents. Agree with the other ratings. Extremely disappointing.
