This doctor had suspicion that i was at risk for having a stroke as a result of being unmedicated for high cholesterol over my 25+ years of type one diabetes. continued to not medicated that issue and scheduled a non urgent mri for multiple months later with the knowledge of me travelling. no conversation of this risk was shared with me. and as a result i had 5 mini strokes. i do not feel like my care was of optimal propriety due to my age (late 20s). i would question decisions strongly for whether you place your health in this doctors care. as of today (march 2024) this doctor has not appropriately followed notes from my endocrinologist with serious concerns and has ignored referral requests from November 2023. proceed with caution.
on the plus side the staff that work for this clinic and doctor are empathetic, calm and organized. and as a result wait times are short.

Dr Van Straaalen has been my GP for almost 20 years and I give her nothing but top marks for all that she has done for my continued good health over those years. I am impressed at how she seems prepared for the appointment, attentively listens to my issues, provides diagnoses and options and follows up I could not be happier with the care she has given me. She rarely keeps me waiting more than a few minutes and has even called me at home to follow up on a treatment,
