It is really unfortunate she is the only neurologist in flagstaff. Very unhelpful, uninterested and unpleasant. I have a long term epilepsy condition which requires yearly dr exams. My exam includes me walking into her office, closing the door behind myself while she sits behind her desk, never actualy looking up at me. Many tests recommended by previous neurologists, kidney and liver check from meds and mri, have been thrown out the window by her. She is not interested in you as a person and does not begin to try to understand your condition as an individual, or try to remedy your condition away from prescription drugs. Many people I have spoken with drive the 2+ hrs to phoenix for a competent neurologist. I suggest the same.

I have had numerous visits, against my better judgement and for lack of other options in Flagstaff, and not only has she prescribed medications I have repeatedly told her I can't take, she performed a procedure on me that should have taken one time but ended up taking her twice to find the correct spot and I ended up in the emergency room. She is rude to the patient as well as the caregiver of the patient and I feel as if she doesn't listen to what I am telling her my symptoms and concerns are. She got angry with me at one appointment when I told her the medicine she gave me wasn't working and said "Well what do want me to do about it?" She is the doctor with the degree. That's why we pay her. I will never go back to her nor will I recomend her to anyone. It is hard enough to suffer from migraines on a continual bases and deal with symptoms of MS, but it is rediculous that we are treated like lab animals by professionals who are suppose to care about us.

Dr. Shah is one of the WORST doctors I've come across. I went to her for unresolved headaches that 10 other doctors could not address. She was VERY presumptuous, did not listen to anything I had to say, and did not read my file. I decided to give her another chance, and went a second appointment where she accused me of not telling her I took Lamictal when I told her twice on my previous visit! If she had read my file, at least looked at the paperwork I filled in the office, OR listened to me, this would not have been a problem. She also prescribed me medication that I told her I would absolutely not take under any circumstances due to previous problems with it! Needless to say, go to Phoenix if you want a neurologist. This doctor is a waste of time and money.

I was having headaches a lot. I went to Dr Shah. I told her that I have a history of Headaches and that I had MRIs on many occasions and did not need more (I am a healthcare employee with 42 yrs Exp). She refused to see me again without an MRI. Her office visits were typically under 5 minutes with her talking a lot and not really saying anything about my healhcare. She basically refused to treat my headaches. The insurance co refused to pay for the MRI. I had to pay her high co-pay and the $2300 MRI bill. STAY AWAY FROM HER. Go to Phoenix if you need a neurologist, is what most physicians around Flagstaff have to say about Dr Shah. Please take their advice.

Excelent physician.I thought I had MS. So releived to know I do not. The doctor diligently helped me rule it out!Not all symptoms are due to MS. Recommend without reservation.

Dr. Shah does not want to practice medicine, she wants to sit at her computer terminal and type in Rx's. Average visit time is 5 minutes. She will not problem solve. She will not discuss pros and cons meaningfully. She's basically an Rx generator. She charges twice that charged by typical Family Practice doctor but she'll write 3 months worth of Rx's.

I was referred to Dr Shah on a suspicion of MS. My initial consult was very quick and I was rushed out of her office after a quick physical exam. She ordered an MRI,T Scan,C Scan. She said we would go over the results in her office. My follow up was at 11:30 am and because she was "backed up" I was not seen till after 1:00. We got in her office and she couldn't remember anything about me! After reminding her, she pulled up my images on her PC and said they looked fine and I didn't need to worry about MS. I asked her about my main symptom (extreme bladder retention/pain) and she asked what pain meds I wanted! She's insane! She said she didn't know what to tell me but I didn't need to worry about MS unless I go blind or suddenly can't walk. Are those even symptoms of MS??? Do not go to this Dr! I am making my way down to Phoenix to get another opinion by a neuro that actually listens! All arrows point to MS and the 4 other Dr's I have seen believe it's MS as well.

I went to Dr. Shah as other doctors suspected I may have MS. She did nothing but prescribe neurontin. When I went back, I said it made me too sleepy and didn't really help. She knew about my fibromyalgia and thyroid problem, but didn't address it. She told me, finally, that she 'didn't know what was wrong with' me. Yet she wanted to keep seeing me, and prescribing neurontin. Never mind...I went to see a nurse practioner, and she immediately recognized that I was anemic, vitamin B12 deficient, hypothyroid, and fibromyalgic. Further treatment has me feeling so MUCH better. Dr. Shah is too busy with her computer and prescription pad. She never even ran any tests on me.
