Dr. Mercer saved my Moms life. And I will be eternally grateful. I was able to spend many more years with her.
Thank you seems small, compared to what Dr. Mercer gave us.

In September 2001, I had an operation for a perforated ulcer and Dr. Dale Mercer was my surgeon. Not only was he very knowledgeable and highly skilled as a surgeon, he was also a very compassionate and calming presence when he met with me before and after my surgery, allowing time for my questions, answering my concerns in an understandable way and making me feel at ease and confident that all would be fine. Through the years, I have often thought of him and wished that I could see him again to tell him how grateful I've been for the care I received from him.
It wasn't until recently that I realized that I could write this message about him and for him. Thank you, Dr. Mercer!

Although Dr. Mercer recently retired, I know that he is still "on call" for some of the more complicated cases. I was under his care for several years of screening for esophageal cancer and he is the best of the best. There are no words to describe the type of care that he provides every single patient he sees and for how he treats his support staff. He is kind, incredibly knowledgeable, takes time to explain every detail and answer questions while still staying on track for appointments so nobody has to wait. Its a shame this man retired, but he is so deserving of time for himself and his family after he has given so much of his time to his patients. You can't train the kind of patient care he provides, but for the students who worked under him....I hope you were paying attention. Your future patients will thank you if you did.

Dr Mercer has been treating my mothers' esophageal cancer, as well as her whole being for a couple years now. I cannot say enough good things about him, He is attentive and courteous and an excellent Doctor, His presence is very calming and he makes her light up, even on her worst days, Our family is so grateful.
