In January 2011 I was taken to RHH with septicemia (septic prosthesis) , I had a dural tear (for 4 years spinal fluid was leaking out of my back, several doctors visits and they didn't pick it up, I had a drain put in within 12 hours of being admitted, I was unconscious for 3 days, I was sent to Melbourne where my rods were removed and in the process my sciatic nerve was cut and I ended up with 2 mire dural tears, they discharged me and sent me back to Hobart with fluid leaking into my back, the level was rising in my back, you could see it, Mr peters Wilkie was furious that they discharged me in that state, I had a lumber drain drain, c at scan with dye and 6 needles into my back, the length of my index finger, 2 more surgeries, then a staph infection, Mr peters Wilkie saved my life twice in 7 weeks. I'm a total mess now thanks to the surgeon in Melbourne. But I thank Mr
Peters-Wilkie for what he did for me, I would have died if it weren't for him no one else gave a toss, but he did.

I presented to Dr Peters Wilke in around 2011 with neuro pain and tingling caused by cervical issues. I liked that Dr Peters Wilke advised me that there was new technology coming that would provide a better result rather than the technology available at the time.
As a result, in 2017 Dr Peters Wilke did a fusion and implanted a prosthetic disk at C4/5 and C5/6. My recover was fast and I'm back to my fully active lifestyle of MTBing, road riding, sailing, running and going to the gym (not all at once!).
Dr Peters Wilke wasn't keen just to do surgery because he could he waited, he was very ethical and I feel had my best interest in mind.

This doctor is wonderful. He also saved my sons life, my son is 24 yrs old. He performed surgery on his brain accompanied by another wonder doctor called Ankit Gang who did facial reconstruction. How can you ever thank these people enough. My son has never even met Jens which shows how busy this man is but I want people to know he is a genius and a self sacrificing human being. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

Dr. Jens Peters Wilke saved our son Hamish’s life removing a large aggressive medullablastoma tumour from the rear of his brain. A full extraction with no visible tumour left via MRI. although a long road ahead for our son, Dr. Jen and his team have given him the best possible chance of survival. Last thing I would like to add is that the tumour was discovered on a Wednesday, Dr. Jens not only cared for our son as if he was his own, he preformed surgery two days later on Friday which is his day off doing any surgery. Truly a hero and we are forever in his debt.

I have had two lots of neurosurgery and I am about to have my third operation. I highly recommend Dr Peters Wilkie for his skill and also his compassion. He is willing to look at what he can do to help the older age group. My experience with other neurosurgeons has been something like" well you have had previous surgery, live with it -what do you expect."
