I have been seeing Dr Gilbert Yee for 10+ years, he is awesome, very patient and caring person, very knowledgeable in his field. Does not rush into surgery, provides a professional diagnosis and puts plan into effect. Two years ago, after Covid calmed down, he did a total knee replacement and he made the whole experience from start to finish and through physio flawless. He explains each step fluently, in a caring manner, so that you fully understand. His staff are very nice and all have the same approach courteous and patient. I really appreciate all the help and assistance he and his staff have given to me over the years and I thank them everytime I visit their office at CCOI . I would definitely recommend Dr. Yee.

This individual does not have the expertise for true lower Limb reconstruction. He is affiliated with both CCOI while working with WSIB which seems to be the norm for CCOI leaving the high traffic reconstruction orthopedic surgeons working hard and tasking through the injuries.

Dr. Yee is a very caring and compassionate doctor and I feel fortunate to have him as my orthopaedic doctor. He listens carefully when I explain my symptoms. If he believes further testing is required, he arranges for the tests, whether they are x-rays, MRIs, etc. Once he has the results, he clearly explains his diagnosis without using a lot of medical jargon so I understand what the situation is. He has operated on me with much success. His staff are equally compassionate and have always gone out of their way to make me feel comfortable. I would like to take this opportunity to thank him and his staff.

Dr Yee basically said my knees pain have no cure, he gave me pain control shots but did not help at all. I called back a few times his office never returned my calls. I feel he is not interested in helping me, my visit was a waste of time, my pain has been getting worse since, it’s been excruciating ever since.

I have been a patient of Dr. Yee’s for many years due to arthritis in both knees. When I was first diagnosed I was too young for knee replacement surgery and Dr Yee provided workable alternatives that helped me function until I was able to have my right knee replacement in 2017. Dr Yee has always been informative, supportive and very easy to tall with. I have now gone back to Dr Yee for my left knee replacement and am looking forward to another very positive experience and outcome. Dr Yee and his staff have always been very supportive, professional and they did an excellent job of supporting me through the surgery and recovery process.

After waiting 6 months for the appointment, he didn’t provide me with any details whatsoever about the surgery procedure (I had to press him for details about the surgery )except that he only does one type of surgery for my foot -the other procedure -I would have to go to Brampton for!! I told him that was ridiculous, being in Toronto ! You mean that there’s no surgeon in this major city that can do this?!He said that he’ll call around and let me know in a few weeks!!! Is this guy serious? Sorry but I’m not going to Brampton to have his buddies in on this!!! Now for a different doctor Waste of my time . He absolutely showed no interest,or concern either 👎

Last summer, I had an accident in Algonquin Park on a Saturday morning that resulted in a tendon in my leg being severed, to the point I could no longer move my foot upwards. At the local hospital, I was told that the orthopaedic surgeons in Barrie wouldn’t be available to operate until a couple of days later, so I decided to get wrapped up and head home to Toronto to receive quicker attention. After arriving to the ER at The Scarborough Hospital and getting triaged, Dr Yee was paged to consult, and he arrived within 25 minutes which was much faster than I expected. He listened to my story, and expertly assessed my foot in a calm matter. This helped, as I had no idea how severe the damage was and was feeling nervous. Shortly after, he admitted me to hospital, and booked me into a surgery for the following morning. He explained why a surgery was appropriate in language I could understand (I don’t have a medical background), the expected outcomes, and answered questions in a calm and clear manner. After the surgery he spoke to my wife, explaining what he saw during the surgery, and clearly explained to her what our expectations for my healing journey should be. Fast forward a year later to August 2022, I have 100% function of my foot, and am able to ambulate as I did before my accident. I have had many followups with Dr Yee at the hospital, and he takes the time to assess my foot, answer my questions, and explain further in a way that I can understand. My wife and I are so grateful to have received his expert care in a prompt manner last summer. A knowledgeable physician with a calm and attentive demeanour makes a big difference when you’re in the hospital for the first time for an injury.

Dr. Yee been treating me for my knees and has helped me tremendously. He is a nice doctor who takes the time to talk with me. I would recommend him to anyone. Best Doctor I’ve ever had!

Horrible doctor. Does quick analysis, nonchalant attitude, tries to rid of patients quick. Doesnt like answering many questions. Simpleton diagnosis. Said I had bicep tendonitis. Had me do 2 cortisone shots over 2 mos. Pain just kept getting worse. Asked my GP for another opinion. Went to sports med specialist. Turns out I have frozen shoulder. Yee's diagnosis was 110% wrong and he kept hyping up surgery. Had I taken his advice I would have lost flexibility in my left arm permanently. Dr. Yee is a waste of time. Choose a different ortho doc.
