Dr. Forbes is a great doctor, super-efficient and willing to listen to your concerns. I had a reoccurring peri-anal cyst which he removed. I can't thank him enough. His receptionist Julie is amazing. He is a true professional and has a great personality. Thank you Dr. Forbes. Heather Aldred

Highly skilled. Kind and compassionate. Has always been on time (knowing that he may be called to emergencies from time to time!). Great sense of humour-really helps when I was feeling stressed. Had a bowel resection etc etc. He was amazing. And huge kudos to his wonderful responsive and fun assistant Julie!

I had a bowel resection in February of 2022. Dr. Forbes did an amazing job, and leading up to the surgery with the preliminary appointments he was very thorough and courteous.
After surgery I developed some issues, not surgery related to my knowledge, but he stuck with me until the problem was resolved.
It’s bittersweet that all is well now!
Julie is also such a wonderful person to deal with.

Doctor Forbes did colon surgery on me in April 2018. He succesfully removed the cancer and has been consistently empathetic and professional on each and every followup ct scans etc. Thank you very much Dr Forbes!

I was referred to Dr Forbes in June 2021.
Unfortunately with covid issues and staffing shortages things were significantly delayed .
Communication with Julie was always excellent.
Dec 14, 2021 surgery was scheduled but Unfortunately cancelled, as there were no beds available that day .
Frustrated as calendar turned in 2022 surgeries were not being re- scheduked and I was considering a referral to another surgeon .
Then the call came and I was operated on March 16,2022.
Dr Forbes , the anesthesiologist ,and team of Doctors and nurses ( 8 in total ) were amazing.
The care given at Juravinski in Ward E4 was nothing short of Amazing.
Special Thank you to the Stoma nurses that spent time and efforts ensuring I was ready for everything if required.

All my nurses that provided such amazing care - Morgan, Carolina, Aneta, Emma I cannot Thank you enough.
Juranvinski is a very special place .
My experience with Dr Shawn Forbes and his entire team have been impeccable !!

For some reason took a surgery which only involved small bowel/small intestine. Destroyed perfectly healthy anastimosis I assume so he could practice making one himself, failed and had to call another surgeon in mid surgery. Why a colorectal surgeon took on a Crohn's patient with no Crohn's present in the colon, only terminal ileum, I do not understand. Surgery resolved zero issues and chronic diarrhea and pain continues years later. Avoid for anything other than colon.
