DO NOT TRUST JOSE E. VALERIO WITH YOUR HEALTH! !!! FIND ANOTHER SURGEON!!!! BECAUSE OF HIM MY LIFE IS A LIVING NIGHTMARE!!

He will omit the truth about what possible outcomes or side effects there could be about your surgery. After he performs your procedure incorrectly and damages you, he will not only not man up and admit his wrong doing but he will avoid your calls and offer 0 solutions. He will run away from what he caused.
On April 2019 I went in for balloon compression to treat trigeminal neuralgia. I came to him as an alternative to the traditional cranial surgery or a life long commitment to medication. His exact words to me when he had offered the surgery were, " this will be an in and out procedure. By Monday you will be at work as if nothing ever happened. THE ONLY THING YOU WILL FEEL IS SOME MILD NUMBNESS".
When I woke I had severe facial numbness. It felt as if I had a plastic mask on my face. No sensations at all. Because of this, I would bite down on my inner cheek spitting chunks of my own flesh. My eye felt no sensation so it would not lubricate properly causing severe redness and discomfort. He kept saying it would get better but it has only gotten worse. A year and a half later it is now clear he has left me with, IRRIVERSABLE SEVERE NERVE DAMAGE ON MY FACE. My side effects are as following:

-Electricity or the feeling of ants running up and down my face.
-The feeling of sand in my eye or foreign substance 24HRS A DAY 7 DAYS A WEEK.
-Difficulty speaking, because the nerves on my tongue feel like they are on fire.
- Sporadic shooting pain on nerves in different places of the face including teeth, (unrelated to trigeminal neuralgia).
-Severe facial numbness to certain parts of the face, including teeth .

Because of this I am now forced to take a huge amount of pills to try to subdue the pain he caused, but no amount seems to make the nerve damage better. I went into this wanting to illuminate medications but he has now caused the opposite effect.
When confronted about everything he has caused his exact words were, "oh well I guess maybe I can recommend you a pain management Doctor. Someone from my office will contact you with that information." I AM STILL WAITING FOR THAT CALL!

I am displeased with Dr. Valerio. He says that thanks to him, many treatments in miami are available, but in the following visit, he doesnt even talk about why he changed his mind about using those treatments, and when i wanted him to explain why or why not a specific treatment could be used, he simply told his staff to tell me: not at this time. The staff even said he was unprofessional. His staff, department did not call me for a followup since he was moving to a different office. When i finally got a hold of him, he discontinued my treatment, and told me that i should have been as aggressive to get a hold of him as i was when i wanted that specific treatment. What a jerk! I have seen many bad reviews on Dr. Valerio, those who say he's a good Doctor probably have something simple for any mediocre doctor to treat.

I would like to say that I'm impressed with these bad reviews given to Doctor Valerio.
I find him very professional, knowledgeable, patient, even humble and talkative.
I went to a consultation in November 2016 and was treated very kindly by his staff. I waited only about 15 minutes to see the Doctor. While in the room, I felt the Doctor was very secure and very knowledgeable about my diagnosis. I found it very convenient, that he has 5 different locations and was able to accommodate me quickly.
I highly recommend this Doctor and encourage his other patients to leave their positive feedback.
