Worst dentist ever. He should be jailed for insurance fraud. Everyone I know that has used him has some problems. Only cares about billing insurance.

Today we were touched by wonderful seevice. My 95 year old father needed an emergency appointment. The building elevator had just broken so Dr Karavos helped me carry dad in his wheelchair up 2 flights of stairs. Fixed the problem in 5 minutes and did not even charge my dad. Then helped me carry dad back down the stairs. This warmed our hearts today. Thank you.

Dr Matthew Karavos has been our family dentist for more than a couple of decades. I felt satisfied with his services until a few years before he moved to Calgary. His services had deteriorated, I kept going back with the same problem teeth, He was trying to fix some teeth that should have been extracted long time ago. Because I trusted him, I never questioned him then. It was only after I left and went to another dentist that I realized he did took advantage of my trust. When he was trying to fill in a loose tooth I felt he was putting too much pressure on the tooth, I now then realize with too much pressure he put on the tooth caused the adjoining two good teeth to loosen up. My teeth was fully frozen then, how would I have known???? until it started to wind down. Was it greed so I would have to keep coming back for your services??

He filled 4 teeth for my daughter, totally spent less than 45 minutes, charged $1600! We will never come back to him.

Dr. Karavos pushes treatments that are not necessary and is super-aggressive just to make money. His treatments are not in the best interest of the patients. Stay away.

Haven't been to this dentist in long time. We switched when we became convinced he was all about money. My son had almost every tooth filled as a child and they were all baby teeth. Years later, my cap fell off that he had put in and my new dentist informed me that it was just a temporary cap and that a perm. cap was not used. Very poor service in my eyes!

Dr. Mathew is nice until he has you as a patient. Once he has you...not so nice any more. All you are to him is $ nothing more. God forbid you have an emergency, he won't have time for you. My husband is a truck driver and as hard as it is for him to make it for his appointments, he had two appointments recently and for both appointments dr. Mathew said "Well... I don't have time for you now, the job is too big". My husband needed two extractions. He was in pain for one week. His suggestion was to make a third appointment to see what can be done...???!!! I am not sure where his commitment is,since he has offices in Ontario and Alberta as well. Very disappointed when a different doctor that was not your doctor takes care of your problem and squeezes you in their busy schedule when your doctor doesn't care. My husband has dual coverage so money was not an issue. I will not recommend him to anybody.

I've been going to this dentist since I was very little, now my children go there. Never had any problems till a few years ago. Now I've had problems with fillings that I'm not sure needed to be done and or were not done correctly. I won't be going back.

Good and bad...very nice doctor + very nice staff. Very knowledgable...he trains other dentists for ceramic restorations. Did one beautiful tooth for me. On the other hand, I agree with the other post...he prefers doing expensive work. I also agree that the outcomes are uneven. One capped tooth still hurts so much I can't chew.
