I LOVE DR KORLOV! God used him many times to save my life. I have a pouch today. I am at UNC every 2 months to assure everything is fine. I had my colon removed Febuary 4, 2008. I am treated for CCrowns have been released from. Dr Koruda I have my GI. Specialist. I had to have emergency surgery in another town once. The doctor told me that my anatomy was like no other he had ever seen. The doctor that did that to me did an amazing job. I DIDN'TNEED TO LET ANYONE ELSE OPERATE ON MErE OFFERED TO TRANSPORT ME TO UNC. I allowed him to do the surgery because it had nothing to do with my GI track. I absolutely LOVE Dr Koruda. There's no one like him.

Many years ago I had a problem and no doctor could find out what was going on. I was finally taken by ambulance to UNC and found Dr. Koruda. He did a multitude of tests on me and found my colon had stopped working. No known cause that I know of. He said I would need surgery and a colostomy and I said no. If the surgery couldn't be done without having a colostomy I would not have the surgery. After a few days he called me back and said he had found a way. He would remove my colon and attach my small intestines directly to my rectum. He did it and it was a complete success. I haven't had a problem in over 20 years. God love Dr.Mark Koruda. He is a godsend and I will never forget his kindness or his willingness to help me and make me whole again.

Dr. Koruda did my husbands surgery for Chron's disease back in 2001 and he has never had a problem since. He was the best and very knowledgeable about it also better than the doctor's in Concord were. He is a good surgeon, need more like him.

All I can say is that I had a total colectomy and was able to start seeing patients in my own office 6 days later. I know that he would not recommend what I did but the point is that I was able. I traveled considerable distance to get an opinion from him regarding my colon cancer and after a brief conversation knew I was willing to go through the inconvenience of travel to have him do my surgery. Very thankful to have found him. UNC hospital staff was absolutely amazing.

Dr Koruda is an excellent surgeon. He worked with me while I have Crohns Disease and an ileostomy. I want to have the Ileostomy reversed and no surgeon here that I had seen or that my GIS Doctor could recommend would even do the surgery for me because I was extremely high risk. I had barely made it through my last surgery for a blockage in my intestine. I say Dr. Koruda 2 times and he did testing and x-rays on me, then he said sure I can do t he surgery. No problem. I said GREAT and he proceeded to work on me. One week later I went back home to Charlotte, NC and praise God above, I have not had one problem since. I feel truly blessed to have had such a fine surgeon and his staff fix me up and do a perfect job. I would recommend him to anyone, anytime. I hope I will not have to see a surgeon again, but if I do, I know who it will be. Dr. Koruda.
