I had hip resurfacing in order to deal woth issue causing pain. After the surgery I was in more pain than before it. But he said it was placed well and said there wasnot anything else that he could do about it.

I had a couple bone growths that were catching and popping when u would bend down... I went to 4 surgeons. I tried to advocate for arthroscopic surgery because it was less invasive but was told by every doctor that my cartilage was too friable to do that procedure. I was told that I needed to lose weight (I was curvy at the time) or my only other option was the hip resurfacing...
My leg at the incision site still has horrible pain and the chronic pain I deal with is never going to go away.
But he said the surgery was a success... well, not to me it wasn't.

10 yrs ago, I had to have my left hip replaced with a titanium hip. Suddenly , 3 yrs ago, it became infected so I went to see surgeon who did the original hip replacement surgery. He sent me to see Dr. Shawush because he felt it was to much work for him at his age now to redo my hip so he referred me to Dr. Shawush. At our first meeting, he would not let me ask any questions regarding the upcoming procedure. He agreed to come in on his day off in order to remove my hip & spacer. He did surgery, removing the titanium hip but left spacer in with an antibiotic inside hoping this would clear infection quicker. When he realized the spacer was doing nothing & that it also had to be removed, he again said he wanted to do the surgery on his day off so it would be done sooner. The night before the surgery, he called the hospital & said he would not be willing to do the surgery because it was his day off. Even though both he & I signed papers saying the surgery would be done the following morning. The hospital had to scramble to find a surgeon to do the surgery because everything was booked & ready to go. After the surgery to take out the spacer, the hospital continually tried to get Dr Shawush to come& talk to me but he just kept ignoring the calls & never called the hospital back. Finally, Dr.Shawush showed up to talk to my husband & I about the surgery of putting a hip back in to my left side. He decided he wanted nothing more to do with it & just told us he was not going to put a hip back in. When we tried to question why, he just kept talking over us without giving us an answer.
This doctor is unbelievable to start my procedure but then leave me stranded in the hospital & just drop me like that was very unprofessional. I had to have 2 more surgeries just to clean up the mess he left behind inside my hip but thank goodness he did not do the rest of the surgeries because I no longer trust him. If you ever need any orthopaedic work down & your dr. wants to send you to see this dr. please say no way & get someone else cause Dr. Shawush does what he wants to & cannot be trusted to finish what he started & don’t expect him to answer your questions because he does not give you a chance because he constantly interrupts & changes the subject. Worst orthopedic surgeon I have ever seen.

On March 9th. in 2023, Dr. Mohamed Shawush performed surgery on my left knee.
I would like to express warm and sincere thanks to Doctor Shawush for his professional approach to the patient, empathy, and successful operation, which gives me the opportunity to recover and a chance to live without pain.

Thank you for your efforts so far and for doing everything in your human power to regain my health. I wish you a lot of health, perseverance in such a difficult profession, and all good and prosperity.

This is not the first surgery I'm lucky enough to have done by Dr. Mohamed Shawush.
First, over a year and a half ago, was the replacement of my hip also done as close to perfection as can be because I still can not complain about any kind of problems.

Had a full knee replacement approx. 5 years ago. My knee has never been back to normal nor has it gotten better; pain in it is getting worse & has affected other knee. When trying to express concerns for on-going pain, he interrupted me constantly, didn’t listen to what I tried to say & tried to make it like it was my fault that I have the pain! He was disrespectful & can’t help wondering if he doesn’t respect women. A terrible Dr.!

Horrible experience with ACL reconstruction surgery. He won't let me talk, won't let me ask questions. He talks over me constantly. He's very impatient and was more concerned about how great the incisions looked and couldn't care less about the failed surgery. He's pushing Graston Technique and Syno shots. Hasn't put hands on me since the day of surgery over 10 months ago. Finally went to a different surgeon for a 2nd opinion and he did 1 basic test and told me that the surgery was failed and needed to be redone. Dr. Shawush could have figured that out if he would have done a post op exam any time in the last 10 months, but he couldn't be bothered. He just wanted me to come back every couple weeks so he could get his pay cheques from my visits. All I hear is bad things about him. So many failed surgeries and he's still practicing!! If your doctor tries to refer you to him, REFUSE! You will regret ever seeing him. I will never set foot in his office again.

Surgery (Rt. Hip re-do after 25 years) September 2021; first attempt not successful; within 3 weeks had a second attempt as femur was pushed thought the pelvic bone when laying in bed. Hospital physio treated both visits as a straight forward hip replacements, released with out pain management and councilled to walk as much as as I could. Followup visit with Dr. Shawush was met with denials and accusations the the prothesis had moved and I was to blame. Since then I have found another surgeon who fixed the Left hip side but is counselling against trying to re-do the right (which was the easy one the beginning). Factors are low probability of reversing what has been done and the risks of a 5-6 hour 2 surgeon operation. At present I'm looking to shoe lifts to compensate for a 1-2 inching right leg length discrepancy, mobility pain and a noisey prothesis that sounds like it is definitely loose or I'm sitting in a chair with loose springs. It maybe that I'll have to endure the results of this surgeon's hip surgery for the rest of my life.
