My experience with Misty and her trust in birth was just as I had pictured my birth to be. I will be hiring her in the future.

MEDwife. Lies, coerces, no informed consent, doesn't practice evidence-based care. Irresponsible - practices without having your med recs. Lies - about ultrasounds and test results. Coerces to transfer when unneeded. Subscribes to tests that are not evidence based (scar tests for VBACs). Gets angry when you ask questions. Rude and hostile during labor (told me "it's just a wave" when I was screaming at 10cm.) Talked bad about me to other people outside of my care. Bullying, emotionally stunted communication. She stood me up for more than one appointment, including one postpartum where I drove to her over 30 minutes with a 3rd degree tear with my newborn. When I texted her, she pretended we never made the appt, even after I sent her her prior text confirming it. She lies even when you confront her. Completely untrustworthy.

She's not a doctor, but she she is a medwife. Tried to transfer me unnecessarily multiple times, and have heard of her doing this to others. Of course, she has your money transfer or not. Stood me up for 2 appts, didn't bother to schedule other appts. postpartum. Told me she'd show up just to catch (really? for $5500?), doesn't discuss birth plans, makes you handle any insurance on your own, and is downright disrespectful and abusive. She made fun of me for yelling in birth, kept me from eating, and has about a 45 min timer on your placenta coming out before transfer. Also made fun of my bodily functions, and believes that more pain equals "more productive" birthing positions. Doesn't practice evidence based. Doesn't fill or refill your birth pool. Extremely arrogant and misinformed.

So unprofessional. Not VBAC or birth trauma friendly. Ghosted me after she realized she owed me money; she filed insurance incorrectly twice. Dishonest - about payment, baby's position, test results. Consistently late or absent at births and kicked my doula out because she didn't keep her kids quiet (gross!). Talked badly about me to other midwives and tried to transfer me before 41 weeks just because I was a VBAC. Can't believe she's allowed to practice.

Misty is a compassionate and knowledgeable midwife, dedicated to her clients and the birthing process. She is direct and confidant in her approach, yet creates a sacred and loving experience. I would highly recommend her as a midwife!

Misty charges more than the midwives in the area who are far more experienced and actually licensed. In the long run, she will cost you much more, since her lack of license prevents you from billing your insurance for a refund. I personally know multiple other women whose experiences with Misty were also bad. She is flaky, unprofessional, and does the bare minimum. Her answers to my questions were always the same, no matter what my question, which leads me to believe that her knowledge is limited. Getting Misty to deal with insurance or work required paperwork was like pulling teeth and always took at least a month. I caught Misty in multiple lies, as did a friend of mine. She continues to claim she is getting her license, but never does. If you are looking for a midwife, keep looking. There are midwives in the area with licenses and 20+ years of experience who cost less, give you many more options, and will make your pregnancy and birth much more special.

Misty is a wonderful midwife. She brings so much light and knowledge to the birthing process. I would highly recommend her to any woman wanting to experience a beautiful, natural birth!
