I am sorry to see Dr. Hansen leave Sunnybrook Hospital and relocate to Saint John Hospital as they gain an amazing doctor and person. I was in care of Dr. Hansen for about 10 years and was I lucky. I wish Dr. Hansen very best in his new hospital and congratulations to all his new patients....just won a lottery !

I am Dr. Mark Hansen’s patient for 14 years (from my heart attack). To give only 5 stars to this doctor is not enough.
As I have no words to rate his professionalism I am shocked to find that somebody else gave him 1 for knowledge and 1 for punctuality. Dr. Hansen knowledge is much more than a rate of 5. For 12 years I had a very bad family doctor and dr. Hansen always helped me with advises not for cardiology only. This doctor is always early at work seeing patients at as long as necessary. Also he is always there to say if he will be late for a few minutes (not more), but everybody knows that he is with another patient having always time for everybody.
For me his punctuality was 10 out of 5 for 14 years as well as his knowledge (10 out of 5). It is painful to see patients rating this unique doctor with 1. And it is a shame!
Thank you dr. Hansen for keeping me alive and well for all these years. And I am sorry I cannot correct these rates of 1 made by these people we cannot even think as being your patients for so many years. Good luck Dr. Hansen and please forget these people that really don’t know anything about eating.

My mother has been Dr. Hansen's patient for about 7 or 8 years. When a friend of mine recommended him, she said, "He won't be satisfied until he gets to the root of the problem." That's about his professionalism. What can I say about Dr. Hansen's bedside manners? I will never forget him visiting my mom in the hospital before her TAVi procedure. He didn't HAVE to do that. Dr. Hansen wasn't even supposed to be on the ward that day. He did it because he is a caring person. I was very scared, naturally, when my mom had to go for TAVi at her age (88). Dr. Hansen went out of his way to support me during these difficult times. Once again, he did it because he is a very caring person. His secretary/receptionist, Arlene is very professional and supportive, too. The only reason why I gave Dr. Hansen "4" for punctuality is because he DOES spend time with you, listens to you, explains everything, never rushes you through an appointment, - and if I expect this for myself, I have to understand that Dr. Hansen will do it for other patients, too. My mother and I are so upset he is moving away from Toronto. Many people in New Brunswick will be extremely lucky to have Dr. Hansen as their cardiologist. We envy them!

I have been seeing Dr. Hansen for about 15 years. I can honestly say that they don't make doctors like him any longer. He is personable, thorough, professional and very knowledgeable. He never rushes you through an appointment and always takes the time needed to explain everything fully and in terms that you will be able to understand. I was relatively young when I had my cardiac event and I was glad that Dr. Hansen was on call during my recovery in CCU. You will find no better human being than this man. He treats everyone (even his staff and students) with dignity and respect. I modelled the treatment of my own patients after his fine example.

Dr. Hansen is an excellent cardiologist. He regards his patients as human beings rather than objects to get rid of as soon as possible (which some doctors do). He always gets to the root of the matter. His secretary, Arlene, is very helpful, too. Very happy with Dr. Hansen!

Before I met with Dr. Hansen at Sunnybrook Hospital, I read his reviews and was very impressed by the excellent reports posted. After consulting with him over my echo-stress results, I am not only convinced that all the compliments are completely well deserved but that Dr. Hansen's professional virtues actually surpass all of them. I have never met with a doctor who shows greater courtesy, respect, kindness, knowledge, patience and thoroughness and every virtue that is befitting an ideal doctor than Dr. Hansen. He listens very patiently and attentively to his patient, explains everything in details, and addresses every question that I asked with genuine interest and concern. I get the feeling that no question or concern is too trivial for him. He truly respects his patients. He is so intelligent and knowledgeable and in just one session, I learned so much about the different medication I am on. No other doctors whom I have consulted before was able or perhaps patient enough to explain such details to me. He does not rush you. I have met many doctors who are also considered first rate super heroes, but Dr. Hansen still stands out far above all others. He is AMAZING, FANTASTIC AND VERY HONOURABLE. I considered myself very blessed to have encountered him. What a privilege for me. Dr. Hansen, doctors like you change the world with your dedication and devotion to your profession. You make this world such a better place for others to live in. Although it was only one visit with you, I totally believe that you are there because you truly want to do your best for those who come to you or are referred to you. No one patient is trivial to you. God bless you, Dr. Hansen.
