I really enjoyed my interactions with Dr. Harmer at the Westbrook University village clinic. Due to the pandemic, my interactions with her was strictly through phone call yet I can sense how professional and knowledgeable she is through those phone calls. She is very meticulous, caring and wants the best for her patient. On top of that, she is also very honest and has outstanding ethical standard and integrity as a physician. Dealing with depression is so hard but Dr. Harmer made me feel safe and comfortable sharing my problems and she also knows when to refer me out to visit a specialist. I just want everyone to know that she is an amazing doctor and I am very grateful to have a doctor like Dr. Harmer.

Hi everyone, is this Dr. Harmer, the same Doctor that was working in Parksville at the medical clinic there in approximately in 1996, she saved my daughter's life with a test for Appendicitis-(the dreaded rear Admiral) as funny as it may sound was her way to determine this diagnosis, when our Sarah age 10 at the time almost hit the ceiling, Dr. Harmer said get Sarah into Nanaimo General right now! We did, and she went into surgery .. they removed her appendix which was starting to rupture, after just a couple hours out of surgery she was feeling 100 percent better and her full body skin colour returned ..as she was as grey as newspaper previously up until having the appendix removed! ..No other Physicians that we saw, (even at that same clinic) were capable of the diagnosis and out of the box thinking as did Dr. Harmer! thank you Doctor Harmer for this and many thanks from Sarah Ambrose, me her Dad John, Mom Nancy, her Sister Courtenay...we need to locate her once again with an extremely hard to diagnose dilemma of treatment again with Sarah! age 35 ( keoniambrose@yahoo.ca )

I went to her over 2 years and refuse to help with my problem and I had to force her to take xrays of my leg all she would do is write down what I said on a computer she wouldn't even look at my leg nothing was ever done and often she was either 45 mins or an hour late all she does is talk and not help she doesn't even give u test results and when you ask for tests she procrastinated I think it's because I'm low income so she disrespects me a non low income person went to her in front of me and was in office for over 25mins but with me she rushes me out after 3 minutes .I don't think she is a certified doctor

Does anyone know where Dr. Harmer disappeared to? I used to see her at Kensington Clinic only to find out she no longer practices there and they would not tell me where she relocated.

I too was a patient of Dr. Harmer at the Kensington Clinic. My previous family doctor of 20 years retired unannounced. I had been using the Kensington Clinic from time to time and was so pleased when I found out that they had a new doctor who was accepting patients. Dr. Harmer was great! Very personable and helpful. Very sad to find out that she's no longer there. I'm on the hunt for a new family doctor as well - although I have to say that medeo has worked well and I'll be using them again.
