Had surgery with dr for laminectomy and discectomy at 2 levels in lower back. Dr had me under anesthesia for 3 hours while he had his instruments couriered to the hospital. The awkward position of my arms damaged my brachial-plexus nerve in my upper back and I was left with total paralysis of both arms following the surgery. Dr suggested it was my fault for being too fat.

Arm fix excellent. Bedside manner awful. I left in tears at follow up. His staff are wonderful.

I have a disc herniation which has been chronic over most of my adult life. It would act up from time to time and I would take some ibuprofen and rest it for a few days and then the pain would go away. This time was different, it had been over a month and it was not getting better but actually getting worse and then suddenly the pain was unbearable. I found myself in Emergency. The Vernon hospital was great and was able to do an MRI right away and relieve my pain with stronger medication and I was referred to Dr. Splawinski. So I left the hospital wondering how long would it take to see Dr. Splawinski? To my surprise I was contacted by his very friendly and helpful office staff the following week and saw Dr. Splawinski a few days later. He was very professional and explained my condition and made several recommendations. He took the time to go over all my options and answer all my questions. The agreed upon plan of action was to do all non surgical options as soon as possible in hopes of again getting long term relief. Should these treatments fail and the pain was not manageable then surgery would be the only option. He assured me that he would try and do it as soon as possible if we choose that route. I am now waiting to have my surgery done and am very hopeful that it will all go well. Dr. Splawinski is very knowledgeable and comes highly recommended. I'm sure he deals with a large number of cases every year but I felt that my situation was important to him and that he truly wanted to do what was best for me.

Dr Splawinski replaced a disk in my neck. I had complications due to my own stupidity and ended up having 2 more surgeries all within 2 weeks. Dr Splawinski saved my life. I think he is scared of me but I sure love him. He's not very chatty bit that's not what matters. He sure knows the spine!
