My personal experience was very bad, the Dr had a very bad character and was not professional, I felt in the wrong place and in need of a second opinion.

Amazing doctor! He took time to listen to me, explained everything related to my kid's allergies. He gave me the guidance and reassurance that I needed and that other doctors were not able to provide. The treatment he's suggested is helping my kid and I am seeing lots of improvements already. He is knowledgeable, professional, empathetic and good with little ones.

My child has been seeing Dr. lai for years. His bedside manner is less than desirable. He is direct, confusing, and can appear uncaring. Shared about my child having a confusing, delayed onset of symptoms to an accidental ingestion. To which he responded - "impossible, it was a virus." He continued that a reaction is immediate and cannot be delayed. Dr. Lai was the first person to ever tell me that a reaction is typically immediate/relatively quick, but to always be mindful of accidental exposure, as in some cases, can take 45 mins to 2 hours for full blown symptoms. I tried to rebuttal that it was him who gave the information, as well as it is supported by the Mayo Clinic, confirmation of ingredient, and was cut off.
Dr. Lai presents as adamant for clinic exposure trials despite politely declining. My child is in fear/does not want to, due to a handful of severe reactions. Dr Lai seems put off when advocating not wanting to schedule the exposure. Allergist wait times are so long, no other option.

Dr Yew Hon Lai took my elementary son to an allegy test. He rudely instructed my son and sounded so angry to him. When he was asked some questions on how to manage his conditions he just ignored the questions.

I saw Dr Lai for allergy shots, and not only was he (and his staff) great, but the shots significantly improved my quality of life. Because I saw him once a month for years, I can say with confidence that he is friendly, professional, and knowledgeable.

We have seen him twice. First time, told me that my kid need a allergy test first. We waited for a long time for the test. second time, asked him questions about allergy. He said he could do nothing and remember to carry epipen. He was not helpful and made me sad.

Dr. Lai was not helpful. First when we met him, he did not say hello. When he was asking questions, he sounded very impatient and angry. He did the allergy test, went out of the room, and came back a little later than twenty minutes. Then he told me that I am allergic to cats, grass, and trees. I own a cat, so I was naturally sad when told that I was allergic to them, and I started to cry. He did not make any efforts to try to comfort me or make me feel better in the slightest, but told me "You can't have too many good things, life is balanced". I asked him if I had to give my cat away, and he responded with "Not my problem" in a very rude way. He was also asked how severe my allergies are, and he responded with "Dunno" rudely once more. At the end, he didn't say bye, either. I wouldn't recommend him. He was very rude and unhelpful.

Dr Lai went out on a limb to get me on an off-label drug.
I am eternally grateful to him as it completely turned my life around. Other doctors had refused to help me.
Dr Lai is a hero!
