Biography
My interest in orthopaedic sports medicine started with my injuries as a collegiate runner. During this time I earned numerous conference championships, All-American awards, and eventually a National Championship in the indoor mile. These experiences resulted in injuries which led me to team physicians, physical therapists, and athletic trainers. These medical providers had a profound impact on my desire to choose a career in sports medicine. I earned my medical degree from the University of Nebraska College of Medicine (UNMC) and subsequently completed an orthopaedic surgery residency at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio. During my residency I worked with the sports medicine staff for the San Antonio Spurs, Missions Baseball, and Rampage Hockey. Upon completion of my residency, I was accepted into the world-renowned sports medicine program at American Sports Medicine Institute (ASMI) in Birmingham, Alabama. This most sought out sports medicine practice is directed by Dr. James Andrews. Through my experience at ASMI I received training in advanced arthroscopic surgery of the elbow, hip, knee, and shoulder. I assisted with the care of The Washington Redskins, University of Alabama, Auburn University, Birmingham Barons, and University of West Alabama athletes, as well as numerous NFL, MLB, and WWE athletes. I also have extensive experience in working with endurance athletes through my interactions with the running and triathlon communities. I serve Nebraska as a board-certified orthopaedic surgeon specializing in orthopaedic sports medicine. My practice focuses on elbow, hip, knee, and shoulder injuries. I also incorporate my advanced training in hip arthroscopy as well as my special certification in cartilage transplantation, and shoulder replacement. My goal is to provide you and your families with outstanding service and compassionate care – the same I would desire for my own family.
My knee replacement was practically pain free and very successful. He is very easy to talk to about procedure.
