Dr. Is very impersonal. He is known to want to induce labor a lot. He spends a minute in the room with you and doesn't explain anything correctly.

Dr Choi is a mediocre doctor. Everything about him pushing patients to c-section and induction is absolutely true. As I read the comments below I realized he told everybody what he told me "baby is too big, you need to be induced and maybe have a c-section". Baby was not big. Also he induced a friend of mine again for no reason who's baby was just five pounds. Maybe he can try to be more accurate when he pushes people to take these risky procedures when it is not medically necessary. I understand if the patient has high bp or diabetes or when it is medically necessary, but coming up with excuses like baby is big is bull when baby comes at 5 pounds.
He has bad bedside manner and does not genuinely care about the patient. Everything is done at his and for his own connivence.
If you love c-sections and want to be induced for no reason, go to him. His nothing special, just a mediocre doctor who does the bare minimum.

I've had five babies. My first two were vaginal. Then with my third one I went to Dr. Choi. He told me my baby was too big and that he refused to risk anything and he scheduled me for a C-section. Yes, my baby was big but I was never given the option to try to deliver vaginally. With my 4th, I returned to him and asked him about a VBAC. He kept saying yes and as my due date got closer, he gave me a BS story about having performed a VBAC the previous week and the patient's uterus ruptured. Needless to say, he scheduled me for another c-section. With my fifth child, I refused to go to him. I did my research and found a great doctor who had actually stepped in during the delivery of my first child to make sure I didn't need a c-section. He delivered my fifth. He wanted to say yes to having my fifth via VBAC but he had scrubbed in enough with Dr. Choi to know that the uterine incisions that he makes are too high and can put me at risk for a rupture during delivery. We delivered my fifth via c-section but my OB made the incision in the right place and cleaned up my old scar. My recovery was much faster and easier. I don't recommend Dr. Choi unless you really want a CS.

On my first visit as a transfer patient I was 23 weeks pregnant I discussed my desire for a natural birth, He immediately said I would be induced and possible C-Section... ALL this without even having a check up!!! He is not about natural birth options if you go to him you will be induced and possibly have a C-section for financial gain! please go to someone else

Dr. Choi was my OBGYN for almost 4 years, before we conceived our first child. He was always very professional & efficient. Fortunately, I never had any GYN-related complications. While I never felt particularly attached to Dr. Choi, I neither had any complaints and stayed with him out of convenience. In my 23rd week of pregnancy, I brought my first concrete questions to the Doctor: Would he recommend a pediatrician? Does he perform circumcisions? Stance on episiotimies? C-section rate? He answered the first three very professionally, but became very defensive about his C-section rate and spent two minutes nearly lecturing me about how he works in the best interest of the mother and child, and I need to respect his "control line" for the safety of my baby. His control line, it turns out, is the due date, meaning he will induce if a woman has not yet gone into labor. Both his manner and stance on labor and delivery made me very uncomfortable, and I opted to change doctors that night.

I had my first baby with this doctor. C-section, because baby was not in the right position. So with my next pregnancy i went back to him, but i was only dealing with his staff .They wanted me to drink medicine for sugar level. I refused, because at that time i was barely able to hold any water in me. So imagine my shock, when on our first appointment with him, i was about 20 wk pregnant, he said that he won't be my doctor, because i didn't do the test, and i am a liability for him. ****!Though i said i would do ANY blood work to check sugar. What kinda doctor does that? Refusing a patient without ANY conversation? Hate him!

This doctor is horrible. A day before my surgery, for what turned out to be a very large, cancerous ovarian mass, he told me that there was no room on his schedule for me. I could not even walk, I was in incredible pain, and my LIFE was at stake. He sauntered in the room in his leather jacket telling me that he couldn't do it for another couple weeks. I got the feeling that I was going to interrupt his golf game. I was in tears and told him I couldn't possibly wait any longer, and I was afraid for my life. He YELLED at me, saying that the more I talked the less he would be able to try to schedule me. Then he went out and I found out he told the office staff "huh, I guess she really wants the surgery". This is an appointment I had to fight tooth and nail with the office staff to get. He gets one point because the Oncologist he called as a consult ended up being a Godsend, offering to take over my case and did the surgery that saved my life. Don't take the risk with Joon Choi.
