I have suffered with chronic headaches and migraines for years. My GP referred me to Dr. Rice to see if he could help me. It was the best thing he did for me. Dr. Rice was excellent. He asked me questions about every aspect of my life including diet, sleeping habits, medications and supplements I was taking, what kind of pillow I slept on ,etc. he covered everything and took the time to listen to my symptoms. He helped me so much. I would highly recommend Dr. Rice. Very glad that my GP referred me to him.

I am a 30 year old woman. I had my first seizure on august 13th and was hospitalized for 10 days. I was just seen by this neurologist at his office in Templeton. He was on his computer the whole appointment and never gave me a diagnoses. He basically told me I am mentaly ill and told me to go to a mental health facilitly. I am autistic and having anxiety and depression just comes with having autism. I would think that having seizure like spells would be a big thing but he did not even seem interested in helpling me find a diagnoses. I am not going back to this "doctor."

This Dr. practices in Templeton, CA now. After having a cerebral aneurysm in November 2013 I began to have headaches again. I was referred to Dr. Rice by my GP as he is new in town and had openings sooner than I could be seen by my previous neurologist which my GP thought was important. Big mistake, he told me that I had TMJ which I don't, that my eyes are over corrected which they are not and sleeping with my spouse who occasionally snores disrupts my sleeping pattern, that may be true to a very small extent. I told him that neither my former neurologist or my neurosurgeon mentioned ANY of this and that my mother had a major sub arachnid hemorrhage leaving her disabled for life; he told me 10% of the world's population has aneurysms and I don't need to worry about that. I told him that this is completely new information for me and asked why his diagnosis was so different from the other 3 doctors I have seen since my problem started. He offered no explanation. I left horribly confused and feeling like a hypochondriac.

After letting this all set in for a week I decided to return to my GP to discuss Dr. Rice's "findings"; she told me that I am the 4th of her patients to come to her after their visit to Dr. Rice to tell her the same thing. So it's either that this guy is the most amazing diagnostician in the world who sees things others don't or more likely he is not listening to his patients and not doing a complete evaluation.

The other part of this story is that my wife came in 5 minutes after I had been taken into the exam room by the medical assistant THIRTY MINUTES BEFORE MY SCHEDULED APPOINTMENT and told the receptionist she is my wife and that I was expecting her to be in with me. She was dismissed and not permitted to join me. Was this because we are a same sex MARRIED couple or that the office staff just doesn't care? They were not busy at all that day. I don't know what the issue was but either way it was unacceptable treatment.
