Two surgeries done. Second was to correct the first one. Second one did not go as planned either. It was a brutal surgery and to have to go through it a second time was worse. Marilyn, needs to retire.

Seems Dr Gambrel gets excellent reviews when all goes well. My experience is that my surgery did not go well and I was told that all would be well and to be patient. That was only when the office woman, Marilyn, wasn't yelling at me. A year after surgery I had to have a further operation by a different surgeon. By then the damage had been done. Three years later I am in non stop pain. Gambrel and follow up not to be used in the same sentence unless the operation had no complications. My complication should have been obvious to Gambrel but it wasn't.

Dr. Grambrel is a wonderful surgeon. His secretaries however make the experience horrific.
They don't return any calls and are very rude on the phone and in person. Terrible experience with the secretaries! They don't answer the phone and have ignored me in seeking an appt.
I'm thinking I may have to drive there just to get a chance to talk to the lovely,caring secretaries in person to talk about getting an appointment.

Dr. Gambrel and his assistant Marilyn are wonderful! Doctor Gambrel took time to explain everything to me and answered all my questions on the surgery I need. Only reason for 3 stars is because I was referred to him for surgery but at this time is no longer operating, as a result I have to wait all over again to see a surgeon that is actually operating. Doctor Gambrel has an amazing bedside manner and is helping me to get additional testing for the surgeon he will be referring me to.

it was about six years ago - Dr Gambrel did carpel tunnel surgery on both wirsts (separate visits). excellent all the way around. and I live in Ottawa.

Dr. Gambrell is a great orthopedic doctor but needless to say I missed my follow-up appointment an emergency came up and never got one for a broken wrist his staff was dismissive with me the cast that they gave me broke in two days which cost me $90 so I was basically wrapping my my hand and arm the remaining of my fracture I have since purchase wrist supports from Amazon for both wrists as both have been broke I've had no follow-up I broke my wrist August 23rd 2021

I’m very happy with the results if my hip replacement. Dr. Gambrel is an excellent surgeon. Only complaint I have is that the follow up was poor until I finally called and made an appointment.

Dr. Gambrel himself is great, but his receptionist Marilyn is horrible. She never returns calls, will tell you she'll call you back in a few minutes and it'll instead be days or weeks later. When I finally DO get hold of her to make an appointment, she gives me attitude. I try and give the benefit of the doubt, but this is every single time I've spoken with her. Due to her and her alone, I've tried to get referrals to another doctor, but all of them say to go to Dr. Gambrel. Unfortunately, his staff is creating a barrier that should not be there. I have to go through enough being in extreme pain all day without having to put up with someone's bad attitude and incompetence. As for Dr. Gambrel, he's not very punctual but he knows his stuff and he's exceptional at surgery. If you can get past waiting 45 minutes for a sub 1 minute chat, then by all means.
