I see Dr. Oduwale for anxiety and depression. He is welcoming and knowledgeable, and helped me get out of a horrible situation. While no doctor is perfect, I am happy as his patient, and haven't found another doctor I feel this comfortable with.

If he is the one that practiced at Royal Columbian hospital that i went to see in 1994 .... he did not know what he was talking about. I was sent to him because i was having reaction to an endocrine medicine. My internal specialist/endocrinologist had given me a medicine i severely reacted to within 2 hrs of taking. She did not believe me when i explained that i am having reactions...that i should not be taking this medicine. She ( Dr. Mairi Blair) told me i needed to take it for 6 months in order to know. When i went to Dr. Oduwole....he looked at book re. medicines and reactions.....and told me that my reactions were not mentioned in it. Both these doctors thought i was having psychosomatic reactions. That i HAVE to take it for 6 months in order to know. During that time my hand eye coordination went, and liver became damaged. At 6 months i got 2 letters from my College instructor and a friend that they were seeing me go severely down in every way. I was then told to stop medicine. BUT from then on i could not take most medicines. My liver is severely enlarged. When i was given other hormone medicine by other doctors it caused my blood pressure to go systolic over 220 etc. and diastolic up to 149. Then other health things like diabetes was triggered. Now i cannot take medicine for serious health things..... consequences are heat attack, stroke, amputations, blindness, sudden death. No doctor knows how to undo this......to be able to take proper medicine. It has caused me much grief and suffering. I have taken genetic testing and now know that some of my liver genes are why i cannot take certain medicines. That i probably did not have enzyme to process that medicine. These 2 doctors need to listen to their patients cos they are making life and death decisions.

I've been seeing Dr. Oduwole since June. Every time I go to see him, it feels like he know nothing about why I'm seeing him. He always asks the same three or four questions and then combs through his notes to see if he can find where he wrote it down before. He has no idea what medications he is prescribing me and I have to continuously argue with him about the side effects I'm suffering. I brought him medical forms I needed filled out and he proceeded to tell me how much he hated filling out forms and that it was such a pain in the @ss. He then said he didn't think I was depressed because a depressed person wouldn't be willing to talk to him?!? It took him three weeks to fill out the forms and when I finally got them back today, I find that he's lied on them. He claims I've been seeing him for less than a month and that I can function day to day just fine. He also recommended on the forms that I should see a psychologist, even though I've told him many times that I've been regularly seeing a psychologist since August. If you have problems with depression, like I have, save yourself a lot of pain and frustration: Find a different psychiatrist.

1 star is not even what Dr. Oduwole deserves. My very first appointment, I arrive 15 minutes early. No one in the office as I guess the receptionist is on holidays. 45 minutes later a second patient comes in and waits. An hour after I arrive, his door opens and he comes out with the person he was with. He then says "I'm so confused", goes into his office and calls the person who arrived 45 minutes after I arrived. I asked him what about me, that I had a 1:30 pm appointment. He says "you did not show up". I said "I arrived 15 minutes early". He says very angrily "no you did not, I looked out and you were not here". He then slammed his door in my face. I had not moved from my seat and was in direct view of his door. He did not look out and therefore is a liar.

It's interesting you know? I see how these terrible comments about Dr. Oduwale, when I have had nothing but fantastic experiences. I question, I seriously question some of the ratings.

Dr. Oduwole became quite irritable when I was referred for a second opinion. He does not have any recollections of the medications you are taking. Booking appointments is not a problem. I had some good times and bad times with him. After 4 years of seeing him, realized that I would be much better off seeing my family physician who is great.

PLEASE file official complaints with the College of Physicians and Surgeons about this doctor. I do not know how he keeps his license. Single worst experience I have had with a doctor. I was referred for severe depression and he berated me throughout my appointment. He made no effort at hiding his anger towards me for wasting his time. As I was leaving, he told me he had made a bet with his receptionist before I came in that I was referred to him was work related. I could not believe what I was seeing and hearing was coming from a 'mental health professional.' He is not professional in any way, and did more harm than good. He is disrespectful to patients even when they are not there - your file folder will be out in plain sight with your name visible. I reported his behaviour to my family doctor and told her to never refer anyone to him again.
