Several years ago my daughter and I used Dr. Steidl for our OGBYN needs whom we loved. However, Dr. Steidl moved out of state and Dr. Gardow took over her patients. Dr. Steidl was treating me for endometriosis and before her move she recommended I have an ablation. Dr. Gardon ended up doing the procedure as an out-patient procedure. After the ablation was done I vaguely remember being asked to get into a wheelchair from the chair that was much higher than the wheelchair and leaned back that they use for the operation. I do not remember getting in the chair, being wheeled to the room and once in the room my husband said I was in and out. I obviously was still under the Anesthesia and moved much too soon. However, I kept an open mind and came back several times with my daughter to see Dr. Gardow whom was very indifferent, condescending and rude during each appointment. My daughter had to have surgery at 12 because she had a period that lasted over 4 months and has had horrible period problems since. Dr. Gardow didn't seem to listen or care or offer any valid treatments to help her with her monthly pain and heavy bleeding. I would definitely not recommend this doctor, we haven't used her for years and I was surprised when I was looking for a list of doctors to see she had poor ratings. The office staff and lab employees are wonderful though.

Before visiting this doctor, I checked a few reviews and read into her background. I was pleased with her skill set so I decided to ignore negative reviews and make an educated conclusion for myself. Overall, I was very displeased. She didn't seem to care. I received quite a few, "why did you even come?" inquiries from her and the nurse. I explained (mind you, I am 23 weeks pregnant. Didn't think I needed an excuse for a check-up.) I am having difficulties with nausea, anxiety, and depression. She failed to fully answer my questions or spend enough time with my spouse and I. I did not find her to be polite or genuine; I'd like to say I'm overreacting due to hormones but my spouse was very offended by her lack of consideration, as well. She didn't seem to know the difference between a sonogram (photo) and an ultrasound (technology used), which worried me. She scheduled my "next appointment" with her for a time in which she'd be out of town, I can only imagine what would happen once it's time to deliver baby. As far as my symptoms, she only "helped" with one of the three: my depression. The medicine she prescribed however, made my other two conditions (anxiety and nausea) much worse, which is nearly unbearable without the medication. I also read about the medication online and found out it is known to cause complications for women taking this pill who may be in their third trimester, which i am rounding time-wise. She barely reviewed my health records, which I found very unprofessional considering I was a new patient. The staff seemed to be lacking communication (issues locating health records although they were sent to clinic a week in advance). If I hadn't had an awesome tech for our first sonogram (who took time out of her schedule to ensure my visit wasn't a total waste), I would have also complained about the rushed/careless manner of most of the clinic's staff I encountered. I felt the goal for the doctor wasn't patient satisfaction or quality, but timeliness so she might be able to go home for the day by noon. I wouldn't suggest taking the time off of work for this visit. I had much better quality service at Parkland, regardless of the six hour wait, and that's saying a lot.

Dr. Gardow is really good at her job. She has an excellent bedside manner and is very knowledgeable about women's health. She answered all of my questions and never made me feel rushed. She addressed my health concerns in a manner that put my concerns and fears at rest. I will return to her and tell my friends about her.

Dr. Gardow's beside manner needs improvement. When I began having 2wk appointments near the end of my pregnancy- I advised Dr, Gardow that I was very feeling faint, felt dizzy fatigued, hurting while walking and that my supervisor was concerned about me being at work. Dr. Gardow told me that her partner was delivering babies and doing c-sections up until the day she went into labor. I thought that was very rude especially since on the next appointment she admitted me to labor/delivery for extremely high blood pressure. Not every woman is the same, that was very unprofessional. My first child was delivered by another ob/gyn, I wish she had taken Medicaid and I would have used her again.

Dont choose her , it was the worst mistake ever for me . She does not care ,does not listen nor remembers anything ! She promised to tie my tubes at delivery but gave me an excuse for not being able to do it on that day . I was given the run around then after and until my insurance ran out . She was always booked or the correct papers were not signed ! I am 41 yrs old now w 5 children (youngest 5 mo old ) uninsured and my tubes never got tied thanks to her . She has caused alot of depression for me . Do not choose this dr please .

The staff was great. But don't go to this gynocologist. She will barely examine you, with not much of an explaination about your problem, and send your insurance a big bill for pretty much nothing. I had an appointment with her a few days ago, and will never come back.
