I am writing this almost exactly three years after my gallbladder surgery in August of 2020. When I woke up from the operation I told the nurse on duty that this was the best day of my life. I was supposed to have it removed in March, but when the doctors operated the first time my gallbladder was so severely infected it was inoperable, instead they inserted a tube and a bag that collected the bile. While this was incredibly uncomfortable it would keep me safe. Of course, two weeks was to become pipe dream. When Covid hit and the surgeries ramped down, two weeks turned to a month, a month turned into two and on. I had found some doctors who were willing to try, but none felt they could take it laparoscopically. Luckily, at the five month mark, I was finally able to see Dr. Shiva Jayaraman. It was literally the best day of my life (I mentioned this earlier and I so mean it. ) I was so happy to say goodbye the tube and bag. Plus post recovery was a breeze. No pain, getting back to business right away. Will always be grateful to this doctor.

Dr Jarayaman is very pleasant and a skilled surgeon, but like all doctors today, very busy and over worked, long wait times which are not helped by his extremely rude, impatient receptionist!

Look no further for a doctor to help someone with pancreatic cancer. He is such an amazing doctor. Respectful and kind. He performed a Whipple on my dad 7 years ago, and he is still alive and well today. Cannot thank him enough.

I went to Dr. Shiva Jayaramam for a colonoscopy on Mar.10th. 2022. I got my results a week later. It was not what I wanted to hear. I was diagnosed with colon cancer. My biggest concern was how soon can I get in the hospital for surgery, he told me it would be around May or June . Just talking with him over the phone made me relaxed and told me surgery should take care of the problem. He explained exactly how the surgery would be performed. And I should not require radiation and chemotherapy and that I should not have to wear a colostomy bag. I went for surgery on June 10th. I was brought to the O,R where I saw about 8 medical staff and Dr. Jayaramam. The only thing I remember about the OR room was getting a epidermal and remembering Dr. Jayaramam waking me in the recovery room and telling it is over and everything went good. He made me feel good even though I was in pain from the surgery. I was suppose to be in 3 days but few issues kept me in for6 days. I have read the reviews on him and I can now say he was an amazing Dr. who cares a lot about his patients. 3 weeks now after surgery I feel great and my bowels are working good .I have booked a follow up appointment with him for July 4th. Thank you so much Dr. Jayaramam for excellent care that you took in my surgery

I was introduced to Dr. Shiva Jayaraman after having been originally diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in January of 2021. His calm, professional and truthful manner was immediately reassuring.

I went through several unsuccessful procedures at a hospital other than St. Joseph’s. These resulted in a substantial deterioration of my health. Through it all, Dr. Jayaraman and his team never failed to instill confidence in me and make me believe the result of my situation would be positive. This was essential in me getting a grip on my circumstances and thinking pragmatically.

It was necessary for me to be admitted to St. Joseph’s leading up to Dr. Jayaraman performing Whipple surgery. Again, Dr. Jayaraman’s positive attitude and obvious knowledge and competence skated me onside through a very trying time for me, my wife and family.

Whipple surgery took place on March 23, 2021 and was successful on 2 counts: (a) the surgery was successful, and (b) the tumour that was removed was benign and was not cancer after all.

My recovery has been slow given the sum of my experience, but I am pleased to say I am well on the mend. I don’t know what I would have done without Dr. Jayaraman. His technical skill and expertise are matched by him speaking the truth in a way that allowed me to accept my situation but to do so with confidence and positivity to match his. My wife and I will be forever grateful.

It has been an honour to have Dr. Shiva Jayaraman as my surgeon but also as my cheerleader and straight shooter. There is none better.

Dr. JayaRaman is the BEST ! I had a foreign body stuck in my duodenum and I was referred to Dr. JayaRaman for a laparoscopic surgery. He explained everything in detail and was very patient all through the treatment process. His team is awesome and I’m so much thankful to the St. Joseph’s staff for being so kind and caring. I must say, they all are angels ! God bless Dr. JayaRaman and his wonderful team !!

Dr. Jayaraman is truly a class act. His talent, compassion, knowledge are unmatched. As patients we do not realize how lucky we are to have access to such world class surgeons for essentially free. Thank you Dr. Jayaraman!
