had one session with him which went ok, and then could only get a follow up session 2 months later. Why take on new clients if you can't offer services... It was disappointed

I'm adding to my posted rating: I've gone back to see Jerry Ritt. Not quite 10 sessions this time, as I was working on a specific issue. From the 3rd session on, he used free association. Good listener, but not afraid to direct the associations when they go on a tangent. Astute.

Saw him for Complex PTSD & depression for about 1 year (2006). At about the 3rd session, he told me what approach he was going to use (transference, which was exactly what I needed.) Perceptive, able to pinpoint problems, focussed, direct and honest, which I like. Took notes and seemed to have a good memory. Nice guy, once in a while outspoken. We had disagreements, but he expected me to go through an angry phase (which I did!). Definitely worth the time and money. TIP: I did a lot of reading up on PSTD treatments, cognitive exercises, neuroplasticity, etc while being treated- it really added to my progress.
