Dr Paul Bannan operated on me 21 years ago to remove a brain tumor that other Doctors had said was too difficult to remove. If he hadn't operated on me I would have lost the sight in my right eye, I will be forever in his debt as the operation was 100% successful. I found him to be a very kind, thoughtful & compassionate man who 's only fault is wanting all patients to have a positive outcome. I have recently had cataracts removed & now have 20/20 vision, not bad for a 77 year old. Thank you Paul.

I’m so sad that Dr Paul Banan is no longer practicing. It’s a huge loss to Australia, in particular WA’s community. He performed 2 laminectomies on my L4-L5 in 2013 and he was brilliant professionally and was a person of good character. His skills gave me 10 good years to enjoy life. I have no words and I’m devastated especially now that my situation has flared up again and I need a good surgeon.

Referring to review on 18/11/20- this accusation regarding bullying allegations is grossly exaggerated as I am the mother of the anaesthetist exposed to the radiation. Paul was extremely upset and apologetic to my son and your review was unfair. I would like to know where you got this private information from.

Because of Dr Bannan, I had another 19 beautiful years with my much adored father and best friend in life. I could never repay him for this gift.

Dr Paul Bannan is a wonderful surgeon who performed 4 major back operations on my lower spine several years ago.
I will always be grateful to him, he gave me some quality of life back. Unfortunately I wasn't able to return to work, but I do lead a relatively normal life because of his knowledge and surgical skills as I had major problems with L5, S1 and later on L4-5.
Very sad he no longer works, as his knowledge and kindness to myself was amazing. I can't thank him enough. He was the only surgeon who said straight away what my problem was, as I had been bedridden for several years prior and no surgeon would help me.
Forever grateful and his knowledge and skills ,as well as the kindness shown to me over several years. His knowledge and surgical skills are a loss to the community as he has now unfortunately retired. Im having upper back issues now, wish he was here to help me.

He has retired. But a brilliant surgeon. Operated successfully on our son's brain tumour.

I cannot rate Dr Paul Bannan highly enough. He performed a laminectomy and discectomy on me in 2003, and again in 2011, when I made the same mistake of twisting my body while holding something heavy. Dr Bannan is a brilliant surgeon, whose gentle kindness when I was feeling at my lowest lifted my spirits and self-confidence. I was able to make a full recovery and returned to work as quickly as possible. In order to ensure that I did not repeat my mistake a third time, Dr Bannan also recommended a wonderful physiotherapist who conducts clinical pilates and still keeps me active and mobile in my retirement. I was therefore horrified to learn recently that Dr Bannan no longer practises neurosurgery. This is an enormous loss to the profession, and I do hope, for the sake of spinal patients, that he will return to help others in pain and strife. I will always be grateful to Dr Bannan, and highly recommend him as a neurosurgeon.

This Dr did a spinal fusion on me and it was a FAILURE. Shoddy work, only in it for the money. Post operative should have pick up that the fusion didnt work instead ended up with two years of chronic back pain and my back in a worse state. If you want a good Neurosurgeon, I highly recommend Dr Stephen Lewis.

Seems he has a great bedside manner... Might even be a good surgeon. But anyone who bullies a radiographer to take an xray NOW, despite a long time staff member/friend with cancer begging him to please wait until he is protected (because he is already receiving radiation through radiotherapy), is a nasty peice of work. Seriously, what kind of person even DOES that?

Dr. Bannan gave me back my life after suffering unbelievable nerve pain for ages, I had surgery in July 2019 to scrape out what was left of my discs and put spacers in to relieve the pressure on nerves and fuse the joints. I now have no pain and I am so grateful for the kind care and care I received.
