I have been a patient of Dr. Scumpia's office for the past year and a half. During all this time, I have met with her no more than two times, the second upon insistence. I was finally told that her policy is to refer patients to a medical assistant. Her concern appears to be one of money over patients. It is extremely difficult to get anyone to answer a telephone, sometimes several weeks on end. Her office staff staff display a laissez faire, st times lazy attitude when it comes to her patients. Her "pharmacy" charges outrageous prices for simple over the counter supplements which she encouraged me to buy. In addition, neither she or staff have a separate laboratory on site run by Quest. Information about this arrangement is not given by the doctor or her staff. In my recent experience, I received a bill from Quest that should have been covered by my insurance. Following non-response from the company, I tried to contact Dr. Scumpia's office. After a full week of attempts, I received a phone call from Jasmine in her office. She was both curt and rude from the onset. She informed me in those tones that the laboratory was a separate entity and she could not help me. So much for Dr. Scumpia's business model.

She saved my life by identifying a heart condition that other doctors missed. She is extremely thorough, dedicated, and brilliant. She is all business. If you need coddling she is not for you. If you want a thorough, brilliant doctor that tells it like it is, you will love her. Her staff is efficient and hard working also.

Dr Scumpia is a scientist & works w/ data to discuss results & path forward. No warm & fuzzy. Her staff are very kind & helpful overall. After 10 years I am finally getting answers to health issues. **for some reason the stars for excellent will not stay clicked & go back to “good”. Anyway I am glad I found this Dr.

She no doubt possesses expertise in her specialty but she is THE RUDEST doctor I have ever encountered. She was dismissive of my concerns and expected me to pay for procedures that I could in no way afford. She is intimidating and clueless as to a patient/provider relationship. I feel SCAMMED.

This was the worst medical experience I have ever had.
a)You have to take your blood pressure yourself. You use a huge machine that looks like it is from a drug store three decades ago.
b) They collect "co-pays" before you see the doctor. You may wait another hour after paying before being called from the waiting room.
c) The place is like a factory. All kinds of strange "tests" that cost money out of pocket. One was standing on a scale to measure your weight and body fat for $76! This scale is available at most gyms.
d) Dr. Scumpia did not provide any helpful answers to any questions if she answered at all.

e) Dr. Scumpia is extremely rude and condescending. She acts like she is doing you a favor by speaking with you at all.
f) Dr. Scumpia requires a large number of tests more than $2000 worth with no explanation. If you would like the results for the tests you paid for, you will need to schedule and pay for another appointment to get the results. Results will not be provided on the portal or over the phone.

I wouldn't waste my time at this practice and would go elsewhere.

This doctor is about money only. I suffered for over a year and she wanted me to have another radioactive iodine treatment based on 4 month old test. Got second opinion and did not need. Yhe fear of cancer being back and going through an unnecessary treatment is not what anyone needs. 10 years later no cancer and I appreciate that but I went thru a terrible time there.

I came to scumpia via my GP after finding a microadnoma (pituitary tumor). I cannot begin to explain how rude and unprofessional this doctor was. She came in and asked why I was there and where was the tumor (no chart or background!). She started walking out of the room as I was asking questions about treatment and symptoms that were not consistent with this tumor. She told me she wouldn’t answer any more questions and that I just needed to go get these labs done. Please save yourself the trouble.

After waiting 3 hours! in the office for my appointment, Dr. Scumpia came in the room and was beyond what would be considered rude. She misdiagnosed me after spending about 2K on tests, thank goodness I had insurance that paid for most of it. I was diagnosed later with confirmed test results by a different doctor with what any Endocrinologist should have discovered. I was very disappointed with my experience.

I saw Dr. Scumpia over ten years ago for extreme fatigue, weight gain despite dieting, headaches, inability to concentrate and general malaise and was told after a two minute visit that I was tired because I was fat (I wasn't fat at that time, I had gained from a size 6 to a size 10 and had been very active prior to the fatigue) and prescribed me metformin to "lose weight". She didn't listen to anything I said, didn't order any thyroid tests aside from my tsh (which actually was high, though apparently not high enough to be concerning to her), and she left me crying with no concern whatsoever. Another much more thorough and caring endocrinologist diagnosed Hashimoto's years later when I finally got up the courage and energy to try to find help again.

I also happened to befriend someone who had worked with her years before that and they informed me that she's just as miserable to her employees as she is to her patients.
