One of the worst gynaec I have ever met. She is very arrogant with her patients, it was my first pregnancy and I never got any of my questions answered. I always had to google my doubts. I never understood why she and her assistant always checked my cervix in my first month of pregnancy, moreover every time I asked that why is she doing that she never answered and instead she was rude and arrogant and told me that’s the process. Later in my other pregnancy when the other gynaec didn’t do the same I asked her why she is not checking then I got to know that gynaec does that only when you are in labor. Dr. Unni’s staff did the sonogram and said fetus heartbeat is going low and then dr. Unni said that only option now is to abort the child. Now I feel I should have changed my gynaec that time and I should have asked others if she is correct, But my bad did t do that.. after listening to her harsh and cruel words I was in no mental state to think anything. Even in OT she was rude, harsh and arrogant and didn’t wanted to answer any of my questions. The worst part is when I asked what went wrong with the pregnancy, why the heartbeat went low she said now why do I want to know that I have no right to know that and I can’t do anything about it. For my other pregnancy I went to see gynaec and I am super happy with my decision. But for sure I will always regret going to unni for my first pregnancy. I will regret that all my life. I won’t recommend this gynaec to anyone.

I chose Dr. Unni as my gynaec and am very thankful that I did. She is thoroughly professional, knowledgeable, punctual, clean and adept at her work. She has a decent staff who will do basic duties like taking your pulse, pressure and weight, as well as fill in when she is on leave. I had absolutely no trouble with her, and both my husband and I attended her prenatal classes at Jehangir (highly recommended for a first time mom), and found her courteous, helpful, perfectly capable of answering specific questions, and ensuring you are not left with doubts.

She also ensured I was able to get over feelings of anxiety by walking me through all the different situations I might face during delivery, especially caesarian (which I was petrified of). At the end of the day, I had a normal delivery without any injections, and all the preparations of learning the lamaze breathing technique and not being scared, along with the knowledge that my doctor was a thoroughly qualified and capable person helped me a lot. Highly recommended.

Dr Unni is extremely busy and does not have any time to pay attention to any particular case, this is esp. a problem if you have no visible issues and all scans/reports are normal. Whenever you visit her (weekdays or weekends) she is seeing two patients at one time and does not give you more than a minute to ask your questions. She was amazing on my first appointment, however for the rest of the appointments I usually left with my questions unanswered and would google and find the solution. Even if you are having a normal pregnancy and do not need a lot of attention from your doctor, I would not recommend Dr. Unni. However she does a prenatal class with Dr. Nilofar in Jehangir which is very good and totally worth it. The maternity dept is probably the best in Jehangir and you can choose from a lot of good doctors there.

She is knowledgeable. However she does not have the time and does not give enough attention. She assistants are the worst! Since she is travelling a lot, a lot of your appointments are with the assistants who fill in for her and they are the worst class of backup doctors. I was with her from the start of the pregnancy and everything was normal, however I lost the baby at 36 weeks for unknown reasons. My experience was not great with her. However she also does a prenatal class in Jehangir which is good and worth it.

I had a more than pathetic experience with Dr. Unni. I am writing this comment to make others aware about the not so good professional behaviour of the doctor. Me and my wife reached the hospital just 2-3 minutes late due to traffic congestion and it was raining as well. I was filling the registration form without which the patient is not entertained while my wife was reaching the Doctor's room. The moment she faced doctor, Dr. Unni said, "I am leaving now. Whatever you want to talk, talk fast". Is this the way to talk to a patient???. Horrible...I must say. This shows her arrogance of dealing with the patient. She was terribly upset with such words and she left her place within 5 minutes of discussion with us. I Thank God that He saved us from these breed of Doctors who fail to identify the condition of patient and think of only money. Request you all to consult other Doctor instead of this and I am sure it will help you a lot.

She delivered all 4 of my babies and was professional and expert every time! I trust her over any doc in Pune. She is also a fantastic coach in the labor room and encourages the patient! She does not waste time with small talk or answering unnecessary questions. She is extremely qualified and experienced!

I moved from Bangalore when I was 6 weeks pregnant. So on suggestion of some friends I consulted Dr Jyoti Unni and had a horrible experience. She asked me to go for a scan at Jehangir radiology department. The radiologist was horrible, she was talking over the phone with a friend in the middle of my scan. She told me that baby heartbeat is very low and it is not feasible pregnancy. Dr Unni blindly followed the report and told me that I will go through an abortion within 10 days and asked me to do all possible blood tests. Some how me and my husband were very positive about the pregnancy so we consulted a different doctor immediately. I am glad I changed the doctor. Today I am blessed with a super healthy baby girl from same pregnancy. Also Dr Unni spends very little time with her patients.

I went to her for severe burning sensation in my lower abdomen. She prescribed a urine culture test. When the test result came out negative she blindly trusted the test result without once considering the contradiction between my complaint of severe pain and discomfort. I was diagnosed with severe cystitis 3 months later which had developed high resistance to antibiotics due to improper treatment. Today I'm fighting for my life when all she had to do was educate me on the correct way to give a urine sample and ask me to take the test again.

She was my gynecologist during my pregnancy.I found her to be very professional,we used to visit on week days as she could hardly give time on Saturday's.Still it did not make any difference. My baby was suffering from Asymmetrical IUGR which was clearly indicated in my eighth month USG scan but this went unnoticeable and my baby expired after birth :((((. My baby was supposed to be monitored and was to be delivered early which was not done as my gyneac did not check the reports properly nor did her assistants. Now can someone tell me is such negligence forgivable. We consider doctor's next to God when they say everything is fine it means that everything is perfectly fine.My baby was supposed to be with me today.

One of the best Gynecs. Thoroughly professional. Good listener, gentle and someone who gives you the confidence. Personal take - she is an evolved patient's doc. She asks pertinent questions, but as a patient you too must not waste time in clearing your doubts, else you'll feel like she is too brief and a rad too professional.
