Seeing the most recent reviews for Dr. Hall is so validating of my experiences with him as of late, and that makes me so incredibly sad. I have been seeing Dr. Hall since I was about 17, and am 31 now. Throughout the past 14 years my therapy sessions have varied in frequency based on how I was doing, but in the past couple years he has become extremely flaky, hard to get a hold of and as a result I have extreme abandonment issues when it comes to mental health practitioners. I have had him completely no show on me countless times - both for in person and zoom appointments - with no follow up to reschedule on his part. Many of these times I was booking these appointments because I was in extreme distress and I would leave voicemails or talk with Diane, his assistant, literally sobbing asking why he hadn’t returned my calls. I was very patient and accommodating and felt constantly like I wasn’t worth the explanation of what happened. As I understand, he has taken on a larger role with MATC and I’m sure there is lots of pressure and emergency situations he has to attend to with that. But the amount of times I was left in the waiting room or waiting on my laptop in absolute tears really scarred me and I am now extremely behind in my healing journey from so many missed appointments. After lots of pushing and calling his office everyday to remind, I finally got a referral from him to a new psychiatrist. I think he doesn’t have the same capacity for his patients that he used to and it makes me so sad that we are leaving off in this way. He was a huge part of my life for nearly half of it but the last couple of years have tainted my view of his practice unfortunately.

I have not seen Dr. Hall for about five years now, as I found his treatment of me incredibly demeaning and unsympathetic. I started seeing him around the time i turned 13 and until my 18th birthday. He continually talked in a patronizing, “slow speaking” voice as if he thought I was intellectually incapable of grasping what he said. He continuously referred to a diagnose I had as if it was a defining aspect my personality, and why it would hinder me from being able to adapt to the working world and make relationships with others. This thoroughly increased my already prominent anxiety and depression, to the point that I would dread going to meetings with him. Eventually, he gave me a book highlighting why I would never be able to make friends, to further his unsolicited criticisms of me. I cut contact with him because of this, and am now seeing a psychiatrist whom I have built a solid relationship with, and who treats me like a human being. Dr. Hall is unfit to be a psychiatrist as he is completely lacking in common courtesy and decency, and judging by the other reviews, it seems as though I am not alone in saying so.

Terrible. He suggested I “try to exercise more” while I was experiencing a psychotic episode. Should have his license revoked.

Dr hall has been seeing 2 of my family members Dr hall has got to be the worst most useless medical “professional” on the face of the earth. Both family members are getting worse in dealing with family issues to the point where a divorce seems inevitable
I don’t know what dr hall talks with my family members about, and I don’t ask, but these 2 member has worsening anger/confidence problems I would bet my last dime, based on how the family members are (now) taking NO responsibility for their actions, and that dr hall is coaching them to do this
If it was not too late, I would sue dr hall for everything he has.
But that would not save my family situation
Im not a malicious person, but I wish nothing good for dr hall

I saw Dr Hall for 6 years. He was very quick to diagnose me with several disorders after only one session. I thought he was helping me, we tried an array of medications til we found what I thought was the right fit. I was doing well for a few years, but like a lot of people with mental health problems, I began to degenerate. He swore to me he would never "dump me", but that's just what he did. No phone call or letter, nothing. Just stopped returning my calls and won't even forward my file to my new Drs! To top it all off I found out from my new Drs, he was extremely over medicating me with all my medications, including very addicting benzodiazipines and I'm already an addict! After he dumped me, I had no one to fill my prescriptions so I went through rapid withdrawal of all my meds which almost killed me and caused me to return to drugs to cope. I gave him several chances to speak with me or to at least forwardy file, with no avail, so I'm finally submitting a formal complaint to the college of Physicians and surgions of mb. In short, he is a nice person but he is a drug pusher and not very good at any type of talk therapy. Finally , he is a coward. Once he realized he might have made some mistakes, he dumps you and hopes you'll go away.

Wish I never met him, prescribed me medication prematurely and it caused me to have a lot of long lasting side effects. Unfortunate that I met him.

He diagnosed me with borderline personality disorder a year ago. He's been amazing with teaching me about it and helping me balance my life and get on top of the disorder. I've been seeing him for 4 years now and I have nothing but good things to say. We brain storm ways to help my life together and he's been such a huge support and listens so well when it comes to how my body is reacting to medications. I highly recommend Dr hall. People who have left such ugly comments need to understand that he's human and darn good at what he does. Ego has nothing to do with it. My brother in law came up with the idea of borderline personality disorder before Dr hall diagnosed me. If he had an ego problem he wouldn't have entertained the idea. Check your facts before you post. Your amazing Dr Hall! Don't ever change.

Needs more experience and let go of his ego. His inattentiveness caused some complications.

I saw Dr. Hall several years ago and he prescribed addictive medications in high doses that my present doctors have told me were far above any published treatment recommendations, and probably the high dose he had prescribed was causing more of my symptoms than it was helping. When I approached him to help me get off these medications, he refused to see me anymore. I was fortunate to be able to find a doctor who helped me detox gradually, and it took nearly 2 years, but now I am completely free of the medications he prescribed. I cannot recommend him to anyone. He should have known better.
