I don't usually write online reviews but I wanted to after I learned Dr. Cheung decided to leave his clinical practice several months ago to focus on research and teaching. Excellent doctor who really cared about me and my family so it is sad to see him go. Overall fantastic team, great nurse too. Hope other good doctors don't start leaving too.

Dr. Cheung and his team are very compassionate. My husband recently passed away from pancreatic cancer. Dr. Cheung, his fellows, and nurses conveyed information about the diagnosis, treatment, and prognosis in the most appropriate and caring ways. Even though my husband’s death was unbearable, the team’s empathy and kindness meant the world to me.

The reviews are so true. He really goes out of his way to make sure that I get the best care. He is not afraid to disagree with another doctor or ask for a second opinion if he thinks that there is a better option for me.

He's the only doctor along my entire cancer journey that actually explains things to me in a way that I can understand. Why can't all doctors be like that? So glad he's in Calgary now!

I recently found out that he is moving to Alberta to take on some leadership position. I am just SO SAD. His secretary (I think her name is Leslie) is really excellent too. Too bad for BC that we don't get to keep him! Very sad. My mom and I will miss him lots.

He's really great. I trust him a lot. He truly advocates for me and not afraid to go that extra mile. I googled him and he's clearly at the forefront of cancer research too.

Agree with previous comments! This doctor was always very empathetic towards my dad even though he seemed very overworked. Even when chemo stopped working on the cancer, he continued to see my dad to make sure that palliative care was in place at home. Dr Cheung was very nice to my whole family when my dad was about to pass away. There was a bunch of younger doctors working with Dr Cheung all the time so I think that means he must be very good. I really wish I could say the same thing about his nurses though - they don't seem to care or do much at all. You are in good hands if Dr Cheung is your doctor, though it is never good to see any oncologist I guess!!
