Dr Ekdom's office incorrectly invoiced us. I tried repeatedly to resolve the issue with them giving them EOB's and dates of our payments.
They did not respond over the course of 3.5 years and instead, on December 23rd we were informed that they are suing us for money WE DON"T OWE.
His staff is completely inept. Between our insurance and us we paid in FULL $3,570. They claim we owe $810 and are suing for $1841.80.
I just called their office and was told they could do nothing about their errors or their attorney.
Unless you want a lot of stress and expense I highly recommend seeking other better managed practices.

If I could I would give this office no stars! I never even got to have my son tested because they have some very bad business practices, and one heck of an unethical gate keeper. I called the office about a month ago explaining my concerns and my desire to have my son tested for dyslexia. I spoke to a woman over the phone (unfortunately I did not get her name) she asked a few questions and booked my appointment. Everything went smooth in my initial encounter with the practice. I was told to call a woman named Meg Krantz in order to discuss my coverage and to determine whether or not my son’s visit would be covered. I immediately called the number I was given and left a message. I never received a phone call back so one week prior to the appointment I called again and left a message and followed up with my insurance company, which told me that Dr. Edkom was in network and that I should be covered but to get the codes to be sure. By this time Meg Krantz finally calls me back and boy was I in for a treat. She is an extremely rude and indignant individual. I thought something was really off-putting about her the first time I spoke to her, and she doubled down on this, when I had a conference call with her and an insurance customer service representative that confirmed I would be covered once I called back with the codes. She continuously interrupted both of us when we were speaking and had a very crass and sarcastic under tone to her communication style, which does not work well with clients that are seeking answers to very sensitive medical subject matters. I asked my insurance representative to end the call in an effort to deescalate the situation and not allow those negative vibes deter me. I tried to call the office after the conversation I had just had unfortunate pleasure of having, but no one answered so I left a message. No one from Dr. Edkom’s office called me back, and to my surprise I was sent an email confirming the cancellation of my son’s appointments because I was “unwilling to pay for the necessary educational testing”. They even had the audacity to refer to the conversation I last had with Meg Krantz as being the determining factor for me being unwilling to pay. NO ONE FROM THE DOCTOR’S OFFICE EVER CLARIFIED THAT CONVERSATION WITH ME. As I shared with them based on that disappointing follow up email alone, I wouldn’t do business with them if my insurance company personally recommended them. It’s clear they have some serious ethics issues at play and do not know the first thing about customer service! DON’T WASTE YOUR TIME!!!

Horrible experience. I was told all test were covered by insurance. Months later were sent a bill for over 2K, they said it was a coding error and that they would resubmit it, then again, sent another bill, they were not willing to take payments and turned us over to collections because it was overdue? I sent a letter to the Dr and the collections company and got no response. The we had to pay an additional 1K in attorney fees! This made the stress over my cognitive problems and mental illness so much worse. I was unable to work and had to borrow the money to cover the bills. The test taken did not help or give me any treatment, told me what I already knew, that I was struggling with my cognitive thinking.
