Biography

Dr. Stephen Scheifele, MS, MD, FACOG, is a highly-respected gynecologist and obstetrician dedicated to providing women in Daly City, CA, and throughout the Greater San Francisco Bay region with the compassionate, skilled care they need at every stage of life, including during pregnancy and menopause. Board certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Dr. Scheifele offers women an array of care and treatment options at Bay Area Obstetrics & Gynecology, with care tailored to each patient's needs, including well exams and general gynecology care, adolescent gynecology services, menopause care and treatment, advanced treatment of symptomatic fibroids, infertility treatments, contraceptive services, minimally-invasive surgical options and complete pregnancy care. After earning a bachelor's degree in mathematics from the University of Pennsylvania, Dr. Scheifele completed his master's degree in bioengineering from the University of Michigan, followed by his medical degree from the University of Pennsylvania, and an internship and a residency in obstetrics and gynecology at the University of California-San Francisco School of Medicine. In addition to being a fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology, he is also an active member of the San Francisco Gynecological Society, the San Mateo County Medical Association and the California Medical Association. Dr. Scheifele believes strongly in patient education, providing each patient with the care and attention they need to feel confident in their care every step of the way. During each office visit, Dr. Scheifele takes time to explain care needs as they arise as well as the options women have to help them stay as healthy as possible during each stage of life, from puberty through menopause. Dr. Scheifele enjoys working with new patients, and the practice accepts most major medical insurance plans.
